So I have spent all my time in the paint booth and zero playing with tuning but I’m beginning to get interested in this section of the game… I recently tuned an R class Supra and it backfires like crazy every time it downshift during braking… is there anyway to counter this or is it normal? Like I said I have zero experience in tuning so I’m sorry if this is a ridiculous question, just curious…
It’s normal bud. Doesn’t have anything to do with the tune. A lot of cars in FM5 have crazy backfire.
Much appreciated V12… like I said I just ventured into this and I appreciate your reply! Good to know I’m not screwing anything up too terribly right out of the gate lol
What upgrades, in particular, will result in a lot of back-firing during lift-throttle or down shift? I’ve seen replays at the very top of B class Road America LB (the 90 Camaro) and it back-fires like crazy. I tried a lot of different combos of engine, forced induction, and exhaust, and was able to get some back-fire, but not like I saw in replay. Further, used tunes for same car where there is a ton of backfire, and then other tunes with virtually none.
I’ve been asked before How to make More Backfire- never less???
not to worry though- you dont like shooting flames - unfortunatly we dont get to play with ignition rates or timing neither do we have control over fuel injection mapping,
all that said tough, when building the engine try not to have a better fuel/ ignition than air intakes / turbos / superchargers as excess fuel in the exhaust is what causes flame / explosions in real life,
I love the supra 98 and have tunes in C,B,A and S all run with pops and bangs and run well, none have problems or loss of power due to the pops, just a lovely plastic burning smell from the car behind - no problem to me though LOL
