I just need to get my car good for drag but I’m terrible and have no idea how tuning works or how to do it properly. I’ve read all the posts on this forum but none of it makes sense to me.
I don’t want to just download other people’s tunes, there’s no fun or learning in that. So i’d like someone to sorta guide me through it.
Also, I’ve got a little tune setup layout. If someone has a good drag tune for the Supra FF, can you put the numbers in and explain why it’s that? Sorry if this is heaps to ask of you guys but I’d really like to learn how it all works and what each thing does.
There are a many good threads to read between the FH2 and FM5 tuning lounges to assist you with describing what the various tuning bits do.
SpotTheKitty also has a good reference section in his open source thread and you will find that many link to really world explanations of what the parts do - it really is quite similar in game.
Now as for your questions: Tires:
Adjust the pressure to adjust the contact patch of the tyre and the road. This also affects how the tire heats up during a race and both of these factors effect your grip.
Alignment:
Adjust the angle from the axis of various suspension components. I have a good link to this somewhere but not with me here so I found this on a quick google search, it’s equally as good.
Anti-Roll Bars:
Tie the left and right sides of the car together. This changes how the car acts in corners. If you increase them to maximum stiffness, the car will in theory be perfectly level through a corner - though not necessarily on level on the same plane as the road. In drag racing, you don’t want the car to turn well so you can bump these up.
Springs:
Adjust the height of the vehicle and how the weight is held and balanced. Soft springs allow for more travel wheres stiff springs don’t. Increase the stiffness in front to transfer weight during acceleration to the back and provide better grip off the line.
Damping:
I found the link I wrote about earlier - check it out here for a visual idea of some suspension tuning. Bump and Rebound also controls weight transfer while driving and what the suspension does during unsteady road surfaces. Adjust to increase rear grip for a drag race.
I doubt anyone will fill in their tune out here for free, as that is why the storefront exists. You can use their set up and they get compensated for it. You say you don’t want to download their tune but you want them to list it here - what’s the difference? If you’re only going to modify it, why not start from scratch anyway? Drag racing is very competitive in FH2.
