Is it only me but can any one get into the following:

The Trial,
Seasonal Playground Games,
Online Adventure?

I can only get as far as the screen that tells you that the matchmaking for the event is not possible to do!

Any help would be appreciated and I am on a XBSX in the UK.

UPDATE:

If you are in the UK and awake! I have just a bit ago logged on to my PC and you CAN do the ONLINE stuff on your PC IF you CAN’T do it on your XBSX!!!

Same situation. Also on Series X.

Known issue following Series 30 update i think - https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst164892_Cannot-join-online-after-the-super-7-update--i-have-been-kicked-42-times-since-last-night.aspx

Good Forzathon that’s what it should be. Thicket drift zone dirt spring. Practice.

You know what, I recant my past statements. This Forzathon was actually decent. No tedious work, just doing a few things within the game. Almost hand in hand with the other seasonal activities.

Still no online games or trial :frowning:

edit: working after the update

I’ve done the Trial and the Playground Games, but I am on an XBox One, so that might make a difference. Also in the US vs UK.

I haven’t tried Online Adventure yet.

Tend to steer clear of as much online racing as I can these days but wanted the 80% car this time.

Yesterday I did my PR stunts in Horizon Life as usual to minimise traffic then went on to the Trial. 1st race was laggy as anything, 2nd race DC’d early on. Tried again but joined from Solo instead like I normally do & the Trial went as smooth as normal - don’t know if that was coincidence.

I just joined an FFA session (from Solo) again no issues & I’m on a One X in the UK.

Just not very fun to race. B700 Trucks and S1900 Extreme Offroad have poor gameplay.

The Fiat championship’s name alludes to Abarth but you can’t run most of the Fiats, because Abarth is a separate brand. D500 means you choose between a lot of power and bad handling or no power and good handling. At least the Dino is probably cheap in the AH so there’s some variety.

I should have stuck with the power build though because I almost fell asleep driving my 124 when it barely reaches 180 kph.

I was lucky and haven’t had a problem qualifying for online and also no problems with trial.

New season starting with nice and easy offroad A 800 trial.
Since limit is to Australian cars, I picked HDT and it gave me 3 wins, team got 3:0 as 2 people with stock GTS quit and free up 2 last places.
HDT VK Commodore Group A (the one that’s in autoshow), tune - 130 623 025

So that out of the way lets see what in store for solo play and first of was cross country racing in S1 900 extreme offroad machines …
So S1 … 900 ? Well I did build my Prerunner DD to 900 … ended with +2khp, test drove it and put back my A 800 tune and fitted widest front tires … S1 802
Drivatars brought two S1 801 cars, rest was A 7xx. So race was easy to complete.
Ford F-150 Prerunner DD, tune shared as Offroad Low S1

Next some B 700 truck racing in street scene. Didn’t bother with doing anything, just reused my already tuned MB truck
MB Tankpool24, tune - 133 409 255

Finally to last championship and some road racing with D 500 Fiats … simple choice for me - grip
Fiat 124 Sport Spider, tune shared as Road and it uses vintage tires

PR stunts as usually done with Koenigsegg Agera RS, tune - 167 849 655 for speed trap and danger sign and used Hoonigan RS200, tune - 428 155 751 for offroad speed zone.
Speed trap actually took me few rewinds as I bounced around and hit all sorts of roadside furniture, rest done on first go.

Forzathon car is Noble M600, I tuned it to S1 900, tune is shared as Road, took it for a lil spin around the county side, then did few runs up and down Forest Green speed zone to collect the stars (could also try to drift at Festival, but since I’m not good at it, I picked the speed zone). Finally took it to highway to reach that 225mph / 362kph (it reaches that speed just at the end of second tunel, going downhill).

Took Noble for a bit of fun

So that was if from me, hope all this can be of any use to somebody, be safe and have fun, bb

Regarding the M600 for the weekly Forzathon. I am level 25 for the Speed Trap Hero, so must have won the car in the past. Don’t remember selling it, but hey ho it’s often 4:20pm and it’s possible I did

Am I right to think it is only available via Auction House for me now? I’ve been spending waaaay too much time in there since yesterday trying to get one, but it’s either none avaialble or I appear to be to be too late with buy outs I attempt.

Any pointers as to how I can nab one to get this task knocked on the head are appreciated. Muchos gracias!

Also, I think they’re usually more accessible towards the end of the season.

A bit of patience and my old fingers (no macro/script needed) …

Total time 3 min and 3 cars that were snatched before my buyout registered.

So there was variety this week at least.

The Trial - I tuned up an HSV GTSR not realizing that is it the reward car. I’ll run a Holden later. But it ran well. Took to the front, handled the turns well, controlled slide when needed. Easy to drive. Sadly, three if my group had untuned cars and scored no points at all. Squeaked at 2-1 with the two wins being 1250-1200.
1996 HSV GTSR Tune: In the Dirt

PGG - Had this tuned from a former PGG in the quarry. It is quick though weak in the top end, but handles well and turns on a dime. It also rolls over well so you can dive off the edge to escape pursuers and end up upright.
2016 Abarth 695 Biposto Tune: 307 428 715

Abarth - Not too many choices for this, so ran the Spider. Saw NightDriver’s comment about the car being boring, so I decided to not put on any grip or control upgrades…at all. Lol. It is AWD, with race weight, race cam, and other hop-ups. But stock shocks, tires, brakes, and such. It’s fun…a little tricky but you can get the hang of it pretty quickly. Not for novices though.
1980 Fiat 124 Sport Spider Tune: Wild ride

Solstice - I have a pretty successful Trailcat at A800. I had bought a spare to tool around with. I’'m not sure why I have it set up the way I do…but it is pretty bad at Cross Country. lol. It’s fast…but totally unstable. Managed the win, but not easily.
2016 Jeep Trailcat

Knight - Again, very few choices, but I like running trucks and other ungainly vehicles. Making this a Street event was particularly cruel though. So the entire field was Tankpools with mine being the only Unimog. I made it RWD in an effort to get a higher top end…and since it was a street race, figured it might help. It has good pick up, but struggles going uphill. The ending uphill climb of the first race was tough. A manual transmission is a must in this. The trick in taking turns in this is to know obstacles don’t slow it down much, so don’t pay attention to the roads so much as making a nice curve from gate to gate. Not recommended unless you are bored and just want to try something different. lol
2014 Mercedes Unimog Tune: street-unwise

PR Stunts - I ran all three events in the same car. I love this tune, it is a little loose but it is fun. The Danger Sign took me a few tries as the front literally lifts off the ground when cresting the hill. But a light tap to the brake right before gets it to settle down and keep speed. Was able to do the Trap and Zone both in one pass, no rewinds. So yay.

Hello,

Cars/tunes/suggestions for this weeks seasonal for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, unless otherwise noted, all shared by myself (or others). ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don’t forget to leave a like.

Online:
**Trial: “Christmas Barbecue” | Dirt Racing (A800) Australia
**Car used: 1977 Holden Torana A9X (Autoshow 130,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Rally SC / 131 827 355

Lets start by addressing the fact that ‘Australia’ cars does not include the Ford Falcon XA, and XB, the 2015 Falcon GT, and 2014 FPV Ute, all of which are Australian only models. While we are addressing things - HDT (Holden Dealer Team)& HSV (Holden Special Vehicles)are just more Holdens - so for this event the only choice is Holden - not really ‘Australian’ cars. Oh, the Vauxhall Monaro, (not a choice option) is also a Holden, therefore Australian, rebadged and sold in the EU as a Vauxhall.
Next - I can not believe how unimaginative my teammates were on choosing a car (basically the HSV GTS) to use (not talking of the rental - which is also a unimaginative choice), with the added bonus that ‘if’ tuned, these choices have very little P.I. to play with, which shows in the event.
So the Torana, at a glance, and by what I saw, is among the fastest choice for the Trial, while it does have a limited top-end, there is few places where it will present as a problem. Easily beats the A.I., definite podium placer, very good on the dirt sections, balanced, easy to control. Tune is AWD, rally tires, supercharged, no aero, no bumpers, hood/bonnet with hump.
For extra - ‘I am your teammate, not the opposition’ - recognition, try this very pink livery (mine, shameless plug): "strike me pink’ 998 676 847, which was a OEM paint colour on Torana models during the 70’s (only I am not certain if it appeared on this particular in game Torana model, Goggle was not helpful on finding out).

**Seasonal Playground Games | Slate Quarry | (B700) Hot Hatch
**Car used: 2009 Vauxhall Corsa VXR (HTF)
**Tune: B700 Games / 122 058 572

This one really is HTF, looked in the AH, there were none, and the game tells me this is not a wheelspin option either - so sorry about that if you don’t have it. This to me is one of the better B class choices for Hot Hatch, least works well my experience. Nice grip, good acceleration, great handling. Tune is FWD, has rally tires, and Forza rear wing (P.I. cheat).

PR Stunts:

  • Derwent Water Speed Zone, 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor - ‘A800 CC Offroad’ (138 009 364), tried a few options before settling on the Raptor, three runs with the Raptor (up, back, up), no rewind on successful run,
  • Wesloch Speed Trap, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544), one shot, easy, no rewind,
  • Ambleside Edge Danger Sign, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544), one run, piece of cake, new PB, no rewind.

Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability: Off, Gearbox: Auto.

**Championship: “The Knight Before Christmas” | Street Scene | (B700) Trucks
**Car used: 2015 MB #24 Tankpool24 Racing Truck (Autoshow 500,000 Cr)
**Tune: B700 Road / 965 968 375

Interesting idea - not so interesting to actually do, although encountering the traffic cars while in trucks is a nice revenge moment for all the times they screw you over in Street Scene events. This truck/tune has the advantage in launch and acceleration, use it to get ahead of the pack early, and the win should be yours. For myself it was a competitive win, with the 2nd and 3rd place A.I. always in my rearview. Tune is AWD, with Forza aero.

**Championship: “Solstice Sea” | Cross Country | S1 900 | Extreme Offroad
**Car used: 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics Warthog (Autoshow 850,000 Cr)
**Tune: S1 Offroad / 101 808 078

Used the Warthog as had no used it in a while. The Warthog is not to difficult to control at S1, although this is not a full S1 900 (not possible from what I can see) which may help with that. A.I. were competitive, with the systems ‘favorite’ been very quick and hard to catch. Tune is engine swapped for the 7.2l racing V8, with twin turbos.

**Championship: “Abarth on the Hearth” | Road Racing | (D500) Fiat
**Car used: 1980 Fiat 124 Sport Spider (Autoshow 25,000 Cr)
**Tune: D500 Road / 160 199 292

I know this is the one event many find boring or uninteresting, but these event are the ones I like the best, having to use cars normally not used in a class normally not chosen. While the game specs. for this car, tuned, say it should be slower than the stock, untuned, Dino, the system seems to have not noticed this fact… so this a event was a very easy, quick lead, runaway, win. Tune is RWD, no aero, on vintage tires.

Enjoy.

The trial, I’ve run it several times with the HDT Commodore which has been pretty dominant including winning the race after missing the first checkpoint. It’s been surprising how fast and entertaining this car has been.

The trucks. Unimog did alright but really had to bully the drivatars. The Benz race truck was quite a bit easier since they are street courses. I am trying to start liking these more.

S1 Cross Country, used an RJ Anderson truck tuned to the mid 860s. Drivatars matched it so the championship wasn’t so bad. Ran it in the DD Jeep with a 900 tune but it is just not enjoyable for me at those speeds.

The Supra knocked out the stunts. Went north through the camera, around the lake and through the zone in one pass.
