I really want to try the DLC for some older Forza titles, especially Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Motorsport 6. As a result, I’m suggesting you relist the DLC for these games.

Not really possible since they would have to renew the licenses for everything. Otherwise, the DLCs would have never been delisted in the first place.

how does renewing licenses prevent them from being relisted? it’s quite simple really
It’s quite expensive, which is why they won’t do it. It’d be like licensing out the cars and music for one game over ten times over if you count every game in the franchise.

I bet they could do it but it’s a demand problem. How many people still play the old games? It’s just not worth spending the money (for the developers). Besides, there’s a new Forza Motorsport coming. They’d rather have you spend your money there instead of on the old games

as said licensing would make it almost impossible and cost far too much, however I did suggest they consider releasing the base maps as DLC totally empty and needing no license but usable for people making their own creations .

Why is licensing so expensive? It’s only good promotion for the companies involved isn’t it?
true, but you could say the same about music being used on youtube, businesses want paid for use of their IP and there are a lot of other companies IPs in forza, car manufacturers, music folks and car part makers

But car manufacturers make most of their money selling cars, not licensing them for use in videogames. So it’s just a little bonus for them, especially given how many videogames want to use their cars. So why make it so expensive and only for x years?
Its not just about money, while the companies have a duty to make as much money for their investors as they can, its also about protecting their IP, if you dont pay and agree to their terms to use their products/name then you cant use them to sell your own.
Otherwise whats to stop someone buying a load of candles, writing porsche on them and selling them for a huge profit ?
… And its not just about cars, if you go to the credits in this game and watch them you can see just how many companies that are involved and the kind of work it would take getting all those agreements
