I tried to paint the WRX hatch tonight, and the surfaces are all over the place - a simple horizontal stripe along the bottom of the doors then appears on top of the front wings and rear wings on one side of the car, but then on the very bottom of the wings on the other side. Massively glitched surface!!
Yes it certainly is and you can’t insert from left side to right side either as the glitch is not same on both sides. You have to do left and rigjt sides seperately. The top hood also a mess, but easy to get around.
How can a car get this glitched from one game to another?
I wanted to do a Gobstopper 2 replica last night, I’ve got the layer groups already to go, imported from FM6, but they massively glitched, as you say different from one side to the other. I even tried a brand new simple stripe, thinking it was down to importing an FM6 layer group, but that was as bad.
I’m temporarily using someone else’s GS2 design, which works ok so I’m not sure how they’ve managed to do it, but I really want to do my own version.
Too darned tricky to attempt it at the mo.
I have managed it if you want the design? If you look a few posts down it’s in my thread, that may be the one you have already if course.
That car is properly glitched, the annoying thing is, if they fix it all need re doing
Best of luck mate, look forward to see your design. Just remember there’s a “dead spot” on both sides of the car which cannot be painted/vinyl applied, so I would recommend you identify them before you start your paint as to make sure your design is doable on the car. I remember the one “dead spot” was above the left front wheel, so I had to adapt my design slightly. Should not present an issue in your GS2 design, but placing the Scorpion decal will take some time though.
Cool, thanks for that info
Well, it’s glitchy as hell, but I’ve cobbled this together. Took some patching and ingenuity, and there’s one on the RHS A pillar I just can’t hide or get rid of, but it’ll do for now I guess. It’s pretty basic, but I’m not a talented panter like some of you are.
And I’m not sure why, but the pics aren’t showing using the [img ] tags and copying them from my Forza gallery, sure they used to?
Remember they work on these games for a year and still mess up. Maybe spend less time making the water drops real and fix the cars LMAO
I did manage to cobble my own together in the end.
But I noticed over the weekend that it’s now de-glitched, as my cobbled design looked all over the place! I’ve now redone it properly, and the surfacing now works just fine.
Hmmm …
They seem to have fixed it for new designs, but the import from FH3 is messed up, with it being rescaled by about 15% and repositioned. On the top, it’s moved sideways and backwards on the roof, and sideways and forwards on the bonnet (hood).
yeh, agreed, it still wasn’t perfect, but at least now I’ve repositioned things, the surfaces “work” properly.
Yours looks great. I shall have to bite the bullet and update my four Puma Zombie Cat Global Rallycross cars. Annoying as there is a lot of matching between the sides and top.
Spooky, I was wondering about those the other day
Wasn’t sure if you were in FM7… have I missed your thread?
Thanks
Seeing as the links to my Gallery don’t work, here’s an old pic I took when it was cobbled together on the glitched surfacing. I’ll take some better ones with the “corrected” version at some point
Hi Midnyte,
Yes, I am in FM7, but have been busy in RL. I’ve gradually been importing liveries, but haven’t had a chance to set up a proper gallery in here yet, although I have made a few mentions on Twitter. Also have just started playing NFS Payback, so that takes up valuable time too
UPDATE:
I have shared the four Puma designs now. Rescaling was typically 0.89 including the roof, although the wing was 0.87 and the bonnet didn’t need rescaling, just repositioning. Basically everything could be grouped and rescaled and repositioned. I worked it out for one, and made notes, then worked through the others. Also, the Subaru manufacturer logo is plain without text in FM7 unlike the logo plus text in FH3 so you will need to adjust that if you have it in your design. There are other manufacturer logos that change between programs, for example the Chevrolet logo.
Grunt work, but I hope the above assists anyone else doing imports for this model from FH3.
