I’m currently doing Street race rivals on Horizon 4…
Now I’m pretty sure it’s come up before…
But why is it whenever you’re doing rivals, Majority of the traffic cars appear either on a before/during/after corners… lately it’s been literally every single corner…
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for it, But compared to FH3 (Which had none) FH4 had some, But now it’s alot more and it’s frustrating, Considering when you face a rival, You’re taking the same line, Yet you have traffic but they appear not to (Basically always on the preferred line)
Yeah, patience needed. I’ve had several flying Street race laps ended by traffic on blind corners/dips in the road. As you say, the quick times will involve some luck with traffic being more convenient. There’s no pattern to it.
Very good time that. Only had a couple of goes at A class but I did a relatively solid run and could only manage 7.15. Good enough for 8th but still 20 seconds or so down on your leading time. My 74 Civic can keep up on the straights and faster corners but loses too much time on the slower sections.
I’ve been primarily running S2 and down to 5.44 in that class, with the FXX. I could probably get that down below 5.40 as my run wasn’t perfect but would struggle to improve much beyond that.
I was doing an A class rivals event in a Merc and it’s safe to say that the traffic density seems to be random, sometimes the road is empty while other times there’s a civilian in a Volkswagen appearing in blind corners.
Trying to break records in street races is quite a chore and in some situations it can be all about luck, which is why I should stay in closed races so I could do timeattacks without any transit and time-consuming restarts, but do to completion sake I have to do them!
I just find it a relatively good way to get rid of the nuisance of those Speed Zones, Drift Zones… that sort of really distracting stuff which ruin the immersion in no time.
And those crazy Drivatards too, of course.
Forget about the time, there’s only you and the road.
Just drive, and enjoy the course.
And a side note:
There seems to be no ‘X 999’ class Rivals currently, which can pose quite a disappointment if your purpose is sheerly like above: ‘Just Drive’.
Street Rivals are complete rubbish. A lot of the top times are done without traffic through a bug which rarely occurs. If you can’t trigger it you are at a major disadvantage.
It’s easy to trigger the no-spawn during the race by rewinding over and over again at the start but the lap is marked “dirty” of course.
Did this yesterday on the Marathon and clocked a 6:49.XXX in my Ferrari 166MM. If I had the luck to trigger the bug correctly it should outrun DireWolf’s time on a clean lap.
Hmm, I’ve done a lot of street rivals and never had no traffic. Probably does explain why some of the lead times take absolutely flawless lines throughout though!
I recall one event in Rivals (the Marathon) where there was very little traffic, but I haven’t experienced what once happened in actual Marathon race, no traffic at all!
There’s pattern to traffic, which appears to change randomly similar to normal Street Race events. I guess top guys have probably memorised those patterns and so can be proactively adjust their lines, which can give huge advantage.
