While driving in cockpit view I’ve noticed certain road cars (Ferrari 458 Italia for example) make this same transmission whine found in race cars, as if they come with a straight cut transmission, while in reality they don’t. For reference check this out
I’ve made sure all those cars have their stock transmission. Could this be a bug or simply a mistake?
This is a major complaint of mine in FM7 actually where you’ll hear cars like the P1 GTR, Vulcan, FXX-K, Leman prototypes old and new, make extremely loud trans whine along with “hollow tin-can” sound in the cockpit. These cars have adequate insulation in real life, even working air conditioners (the first three track cars I mentioned)! They are not supposed to have such a loud trans whine or hollow cockpit sound. It’s a shame because the samples for the P1 GTR, Vulcan and FXXK are reasonably good but the sound is so terribly hollow from cockpit. This is through a powerful 7.1 amp, mind you. Many other cars too have this bug - or perhaps its a design choice, don’t know.
At least in FH4, that annoying tin can effect is not there. Only “striped to the bone” GT race cars have that in real life. Anyway, one look at the sound thread for both games and you’ll know why both threads have so many pages and views. However, the fact that both are still open tells me that they will eventually get around to fixing car sound issues in both games. Here’s hoping - HN Year to all!!
