Still unable to download from the Windows store

To this day I am unable to download Forza Motorsport 7 from the windows store. It has been going for two days straight now that the download reset OR ends up having errors. This is unacceptable as in Australia data limits are real and the fastest home internet connections here are equivalent to some of the worst possible money can buy in any other developed country.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I don’t see how a game can be priced at an entry level $100 and still have issues like these. Thankfully I learned from FH3 not to pre-order the Ultimate Edition, which this time around I didn’t do. I’ll be seeking a refund, but wonder if anyone else experienced this and fixed this issue? All posts thus far have been about pre-loading, which doesn’t apply here.

EDIT: Also, after several resets the download size is now only 52gbs. It also throws an error after 16gb and deletes itself automatically from the windows store. Normal?

I have a different issue… Can someone help me please. I’ve updated Win 10 with Creator and Win10 is completely up to date. Once logged into the store the only download for FM7 states to force install to my Xbox One. It shows I own the game “Utimate Edition”. But no where can I download.

What am I doing wrong… Thanks for taking time to help.

You may purchased the game from the xbox store instead from the microsoft store so play anywhere will not be the case then - sadly.

Also everyone who has issues with downloading the game: Google how to set rights for your windows admin account of the forza 7 gamefolder thats been created. I did this and downloaded the game straight in 15 hours on early access release day with no issues.

So you’re saying since I bought the digital version fern the Xbox store it’s not a play anywhere version? That’s BS huh… Son of a B%$*&

As far as i know (since games are not labled as play anywhere in xbox store), sadly yes. Happened to me and my horizon 3 porsche car pack …purdchased on xbox …on pc i cant access the cars (or download the dlc).

May have worked for you, not for me. I’m currently in the process of getting a refund.

If it was the same as how it was on FH3 then you go to “In this bundle” and click on Forza Motorsport 7 within the Ultimate Edition bundle. GL downloading it.

I had the same issue with multiple MULTIPLE attempts. The only time I was successful was going to settings and using the troubleshooter for the Windows store. It found two things and fixed one, the second issue it asked if I wanted to reset. I did and it worked.

Try to enable firewall for all profiles. right click start - Command Prompt (admin)

and type “netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state on”.

I just found out this might solve at least the Teredo connection problems with Xbox and such, but maybe it works for the store as well.

This helped me:
set my windows insider update setting to the next previous version of windows and installed the preview build 16299! Now the download of forza motorsport 7 runs fine and with full download

… Aaaand gone. Good riddance, now I’ll never be dealing with Windows Store again. Good luck ever even having a chance to compete with any of the half decent digital distribution platforms out there.

the fix for the issue is to go into msconfig and go to services and click hide all microsoft services then hit disable all, then restart you pc and attempt to download. thats what fixed mine. but now everytime i go to upgrade a car it throws me into the infinite save loop. the game isnt worth the money in my opinion. not much new stuff imo
