My opinion. Do both. Not every decision comes down to one of the other.
Spot on. I agree with everything anonyymous is saying. Good advice and a balanced view
Fh4 numbers are growing as people are frustrated with so many slow and dirt races in fh5
This is a good question that many of us are wrestling with. Fh4 is a great game. I played it regularly for 3 years i think and was getting a bit bored.
Then finally fh5 came out and it was very unstable and full of bugs. It was an MVP which we were not expecting. Serious racers expect a stable platform.
The graphics in fh5 are better than fh4. The S2 road races in fh5 are faster than fh4. Fh5’s stability has improved alot in recent weeks.
Fh4 is still better for a racing community, ie if you want to do 10 races with your friends.
Fh5 has too many features and is trying to appeal to kids, dirt racers and street racers. Fh5 should focus on serious racers. Dirt racers should play DIRT or a rally game.
You need to work out peak periods for when the most players are on fh4. This will align with European timezones
I suggest you stay with fh4 for a few months.
If you want to go to fh5, you will need the latest console too
Enjoy
I still do the seasonals in fh4,was thinking of giving up on them, but i still enjoy it for the most part so carry on.Logged on last night to see the new season in and was amazed at how crowded the map was, full trials and even (gulp) games events.Did a couple of the hourly forzathon events and there was a min of 12 -15 people in each.
fh5 is very good and eminently playable on One S,hardly the latest console. Not all the bells and whistles graphically, but plenty good enough
Best thing to do in my eyes, just grab game pass for a month and give FH5 a go and also a few other games as well during that period and make the assessment on your own
Wheel support is still atrocious, if you have any desire to play with a racing wheel then Forza Horizon 5 is an “Avoid At All Costs”.
If you were happy playing with the gamepad in Horizon 4 then Horizon 5 is mostly in the same state today. The majority of the launch bugs are gone, though it’s certainly not perfect.
I’m on Series X, and it’s far from unplayable for me. Graphically it’s definitely a big step up from 4, I’m loving just chilling out driving around, haven’t had a tonne of bugs personally
Maybe on Xbox stuff got fixed but on PC it’s still an unmitigated disaster.
Having a hard time thinking of anything they fixed. They fixed the water sticking to the screen. That was nice. That’s all I can think of.
It would be a great fix worthy of praise of it weren’t for the fact that the game is still incredibly unstable and does not function as advertised.
I would say if you like the online part stay with 4 if you like to drive with no goal go to 5. 5 just feels empty and there is no ranked online, it seems they are aming more to kids with 5. But it has the potential to be a better game than 4, bus as of now its not.
