Standard cars lap time Nurburgring nordesleife

How do you guys find the car handling and performance on stock cars compared to real life counterparts on official Ring lap times??

Bear in mind these laps were recorded with road tyres and in stock form.

Majority of the Forza 6 lap times seem well out, even with tune and race tires lol.

Seems to me like certain cars need adjusting to more realistic classes.

For example:

Eg KTM-xbow to S class.

Skyline GTR only 5.2 handling stock???

Something seems really out of sync to me.
What do you guys think?

No wonder we seem to see the same lobby leaderboard cars since forza 5…

Where is the Bac mono and alfa 33 stradale??? Honda nsx and F50 in the real life leaderboard???

It would be great to see a more realistic and varied leaderboard in Forza 6 representing great cars when tuned to a specific class peform better giving a much better variety in lobbys and car selections.

Have you actually ran any of these cars in stock form to get a fair comparison? It’s worth remembering that the drivers that post these times know the ring like the back of their hand and are incredibly talentes so that the average forza driver will not be able to recreate them.

However I will be trying a few cars myself for comparison sake after the weekend. Anyone know if the lap times in the link posted above are bridge to gantry times or just 1 full lap.

I kinda hope I can recreate fairly close times to say what the Enzo and the MC12 have posted - maybe that way we can recreate the McLaren P1’s lap time and maybe work out what it might be seeing as Mclaren won’t give us the exact time.

Also keep in mind that nothing in the real world is as standardized as it is in a game. Not all manufacturers in real life are going to run the Ring with 30psi in their tires, cold. I wouldn’t be surprised if they set pressures to obtain the best lap. Many also use optional tire options that are practically race tires, which might not be on the standard car. There are now often alternate drive modes (road, race, snow etc.) as well, that aren’t present in the game. Then you get into the whole issue of it being with a highly trained driver. It’s an interesting challenge to set for yourself though. I’d probably do the same if I had the free time.

Also, VWs/Audis will detect when they are on the Ring and the ECU will switch to am all-out-power mode.

There are several cars in FM6 which I’ve driven IRL, some of which I’ve even owned. Including, but not limited to:

'77 Firebird T.A. (the one I drove was an '80)

'88 Scirocco (owned an '84)

Foxbody Mustang (relative has an '88)

Honda CRX

'02 Corvette (got to drive an '03 recently)

'04 Impreza (I own an '03 ATM)

Whilst I haven’t compared RL lap times, I can say these cars’ handling characteristics in the game are quite faithful. In particular, tossing the VW around makes me nostalgic for my High School days. It’s the only car I drove as hard IRL as I do in this game (one of the reasons it blew up, lol), and MAN it brings back memories.

Manufacturer Nurburgring lap times really need to be taken with a grain of salt.

The lengths that they can go to, in order to get a good time are either impressive or despicable, depending on your perspective.

Consider that these tests are done by the manufacturers under their own conditions, in cars that they supply, that no one else can check to ensure it hasn’t been beefed up purely for the purposes of the hot lap.

Independent bodies don’t have the funds or the interest to do proper controlled testing so it just doesn’t happen.

Just look at the current VW emissions scandal for an indication of what is probably going on with Nurburgring lap times.

I totally disagree the cars handling is way off. Yeah nurburgring times may differ to realife counterparts for various reasons but you boys cant really know much about track racing or your ignorant.
ive owned a track prepped e39 m5, a transam gta and currently own a cls55 amg. My gaming rig setup is in my signature and all i have to say is how dissapointed i am with the physics modelling.
I know its a game but the cars are way too understeerey in corners and way too much overteeerey out of corners its actually undrivable without race tyres. Just to make a car handle you need to upgrade it and tune it… unrealistic im afraid.
take the nissan gtr black edition, this car is a real track monster the car produces 1.5g force and has incredible levels of grip on road tyres. Its one of the best handling road cars in the world yet on forza handling is 5.2…??? The pi is one of the lowest in s class, even tuned fully with max grip its handling is still pathetic. I also agree with partyboy how its the same stupid cars which dominate classes. Alfa 33 ive not even heard of one these overated rust buckets. Yet one the best handling track cars on some tracks and the fastest drag car on horizon 2. Geez t10 or what u do is copy and paste. A c5 z06 with thousands spent on performance upgrades for a track would destroy a alfa 33 but not in the land of forza.

The game is way off in the realism department, sorry for you fanboys because im one, but the series is getting tiresome…
hopefully assetto corsa will get it right.

Hey guys!

I think the Forza Laptimes are rather acurate for a racing game. Below you’ll find Nordschleife Laptimes from a German car magazine. All Time Attack runs are performed by the same driver.

These are some of my own laptimes. All cars are stock, no driving assistance, physics = simulation:

This is all Forza 6 with a gamepad. The times in Forza 4 with Fanatec Wheel were even closer, as far as I can remember.

I cant even begin to imagine how much this game would cost if it were as real as some of y’all expect it to be. Not to mention the actual knowledge and expertise one would have to have just to go out and turn a few laps. It’s a video game guys, you could spend all day picking it apart if you wanted to and then post all your grievances here but I bet when you get done, you go back and play the game some more.

Ihave always been interested in seeing what the licensing agreements might have as far as how the cars are represented. For much of the series the Ferraris always seem to be super sticky and fast while the Lambos slide around. That has improved but still I wonder what if specs and performance are at all outlined in the agreements to get the cars in the game.
