So as i get more comfortable with the game (got it Thanksgiving along with my shiny new one) and my lap times start to climb, i see that i have a lot of top 500 lap times, and even some top 200. I feel i should be happy with that, but should i? I remember hitting like 37th on road america in forza 3 and was proud of that. What kind of times do other folks consider “good”? Look forward to your thoughts!
i’m good with anything top 500 or so. I’m not the fastest person out there and I know it. But, I’ll never let that get in the way of enjoying this game. If I was awesome at everything I did, I would be disgustingly wealthy and would be driving these cars around in RL. Renting out Nordschleife for weekends at a time.
I’m happy with hitting top 4%. I am still using semi auto and tc in S and above but still enjoying the game. Definitely not very fast as the spec rivals I am only hitting top 12%…gotta love the great tuners out there for the rest of the game.
Top 50.
My rule of thumb is if you’re within 2 seconds of number #1 then you’ve done very well and have a beast car. 2-5 seconds slower is still good and usually where you want to be for online racing.
Without any overall leaderboards or online leaderboards for forzastats to pull those ranges will likely be bigger this go around due to many players choosing not to redo their lap times. Less motivation to be competitive, the less likely the boards will be super competitive.
If you hit top 100 in fm3, I think you’ll be fine. Those boards were very competitive with all the super teams battling it out with each other.
Depends on the circumstances, car, class and track for me really.
There’s tracks like the Alps and Prague that I am fairly natural on if I use a LB car and am not in the top 20 I am pretty mad at myself. But others like Catalunya or Hockenhiem were I struggle abit I wont worry too much about.
LB cars in general if I am not top 30 or there abouts I am abit peeved.
Classes outside of A, S and R, I don’t worry about.
Yes … (40oz Method is the real deal) If you can beat or keep up with Method in any lobby you are doing great. I’ve raced him once or twice in Forza 5 in multiplayer A class. I won against him once (Nurburgring) and I saved that replay like it was a trophy !!
If you play often enough and go over the leaderboards you will start to notice the “regulars” I do recall seeing 40’s gamertag in Forza 4 … but back then I was just starting to take lap time and tuning seriously and was nowhere near their times…
The closer you can get in lap time to a veteran player the better and its going to require a lot of time and patience just hang in there.
Cheers
Even number 1’s on some track means jack. I’ve ran #1 times with oddball car knowing full well a top player would beat me time by seconds. Without a proper overalls the top players really havent been trying.
So I guess it depends who you beat more than the position. Even then you have to take it with a grain of salt, because the might of been done in a race.
When comparing to previous games I would say a top 50 on Forza 3 is a far bigger achievement than a top 50 now. There are less people playing and less quick people playing. Try to work it out as a percentage not a position.
I got top 5000… Crickets chirping.
Don’t even think you aren’t doing well bro. I got a top 3000 in forza 3 when I first started playing and started jumping around the room.
If you are having fun that’s all that matters.
I’m always pumped when I’m in the top 1%. It doesn’t happen often, but I haven’t really done any rivals yet so I’m happy with that.
It depends if it’s a spec rival event it’s all down to skill if it’s an open one most of it is down to the car.
Id say try a spec rival and if your top 1 or 2%and or 3 or less seconds off the pace of #1 time per min your doing really good…
^^this^^
You can have a lot of fun just trying to be the quickest in whatever car you’re driving.
I used to sit around Top 2000 in Forza Motorsport 4 but nowadays I can get Top 100s at B/600. Top 100 pace on the leaderboards should make most Multiplayer races a guaranteed podium, however you may need to hit Top 50 pace to be competitive in the Pinnacle Division of Leagues.
If I’m top 5% I’m very happy. Sometimes I manage top 1% , it’s really an achievement for me ^^ But that could means top 3000 depending of the track and/or the class. But I’m getting better and better. I’m not really a good driver but I enjoy the game. My goal is mostly to beat my friend list in rivals and that’s not an easy task. Actually I paint more than I drive
Also I almost never use LB cars, I like to try different things like drive in a Nissan Juke or a Fiat X1/9 or Ferrari Dino…and I never use top tunes either. I drive easy car, not obligatory fast cars.
Haven’t had a chance to really attack the leaderboards in Forza 6 to get top lb times, like I have in Forza 2 to 5. But I never run the dominant leaderboard cars ever in Forza 6 I refuse to so far, just a self challenge. I have liked to use non-lb cars only and see if I can get into the top 50 positions and I have on some occasions so far in this game.
I am number 1 by sometimes a few seconds on heaps of car division leaderboards though.
Usually in past Forza games if I am more than 1 second away using the dominant lb car from the number 1 time after running more than 5 laps in rivals mode It annoys me.
Generally though I can run top 50 times and most of them have been in online lobbies only 3 to 5 laps and they are still in the top 50. If I really make an effort and use a car tune specific for that track and chase a the rival ghost I won’t be happy if I am not top 20 at the least.
If I ever fall out of the top 100 laptimes overall on a regular basis I am retiring from this game and trading in my disc as I have too much self belief that I am one of the best drivers to ever play Forza to end up being outside the top 100 ever on any track or class lol
I am as fast as I am, and I am cool with that. I know that my refusal to use clutch and use of “leaderboards cars” slows me down. My fun from this game comes from painting, building and tuning and running with friends when I get the chance. Don’t get me wrong, if I can get a really fast time somewhere I am pretty jazzed, but I don’t loose sleep over it. I have seen others use cars I have built get great times with them. And as a few have said, it kinda seems like the lb’s aren’t as competitive as other forzas. Personally I am still holding onto hope that they will fix/put in drag leaderboards.
I have never cared about leaderboards, but I consider top 500 pretty good.
As I drive “hardcore” (no assists except normal steering) all the time, I’m more focused about the hardcore LB and top 500 usually translates to top 50 time on there.
I was very gradually getting quicker from FM1 up to FM5. I used to be thrilled with a top 500 time in the FM2-FM4 days, with an occasional top 200. In FM6 I have a pile of top 100 times, including several top 20s, so there must be a ton of fast guys who aren’t playing anymore or maybe just aren’t trying. I know I’m not really that fast.
I’m happy if I get a top 50 time, but I know it means there are about 150 faster guys who didn’t do that track in that class yet
