There seems to be a quite a few engines in the game that seam to be to underperforming with modifications compared to there in real life counterparts.
Let’s take a look at the 1977 pontiac Trans Am. It originally came with a Pontiac 400.
With proper modifications to the engine heads and block and no major aftermarket parts other than cam it can easily achieve more than 500 horsepower but in game with all these aftermarket parts you can’t break much more than 450 horsepower. And the block of the Pontiac 400 is the same as a Pontiac 455 Super Duty. What makes the Super Duty unique is that it is reinforce to maintain higher levels of stress for longer much longer without splitting down the middle…
Most specifically in the lifter Valley with more webbing. And it has a longer stroking crank that is about it. Pontiac has used the same block from under 300 cubic inches all the way to the 455.
And with a small change in motor mounts you can easily do a engine swap with the Pontiac 455 Super Duty. No other major changes need it yet in game you cannot do this.
There is a lot of sources that it developers can look at that will show in real life results and how to to get over 500 horses with a Pontiac 400. No supercharger and no turbos just carb. A good source material for this is How to Build Max Performance Pontiac V8s by Jim hand.
to the developers please take a look at this and other engine build source materials and compare them with what you have in game and try to bring them more in line with their in real life counterparts I know this is just a game but I like to see preformence of old school engines close to realistic as possible and I’m sure many others here would like this to
And thank you for releasing this wonderful game for PC
