Hello, so I run on a GTX 960 2GB, i5-4460, 8GB of RAM and here are the issues I have experienced so far:
-
The game sometimes crashes when loading a race (not necessarly “after 5 or 7 consecutive races” but also the first race after launching the game)
-
Lags and framerate drops when in races. The track where I have the most lags is in Rio. I tried turning everything to low but it’s worse than in medium. Sometimes, I lag when there are Drivatars in front of me. I tried to “benchmark” it by myself and I came to these results: In Rio, I’m lagging next to the beach (due to the waves and water projection maybe; I’m lagging when entering the tunel (maybe caused by the amount of textures/shadows, but I don’t know how many textures there are so I can’t say if it’s good or wrong); I have no problems with “exploding” tires or in the rain; I rarely have lags when there are particles (rain, sparkles or smoke).
I’ll be updating this post when I find more details about what can be the reason of the lags and where I don’t lag.
EDIT 1: I ran several times on Yas Marina (for the Ariel Atom stage) and I had several issues: lag (still the same); and a bigger one is that the track keeps “loading”, basically parts of it aren’t loaded right away and I need to be driving to make it load. Sometimes, part of the track disappears for a second and reappears.

After the last update, almost every issues were gone. I disabled V-Sync and magic happened. (Almost) everything is running constant 60 FPS on Medium settings.
It still lags a bit at the begining of a race but it runs smooth after 30 seconds of racing or so. I didn’t ran the Ariel Atom event again so I can’t say if it’s fixed too. I didn’t experience the “crashing when loading a race” issue yet.
So now, it’s pretty good and I’m waiting the Wheel Support and the game will be a really good experience !
With the same graphic card and RAM, i have a very heavy stuttering after finish 1st race making impossible to continue playing.
What in-game graphic settings do you have ? And which processor ?
http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm501812_Stutterin-fest.aspx#post_501812 → just shy of 8GB RAM and 2GB VRAM aka “the bare minimum”.
That said, on some occasions I have posted to try running the game without pagefile. Most people don’t answer back or are reluctant to try; but it can very much take a huge load of I/O to/from disk.
Also, Sebring Night is very heavy on VRAM but if you would turn down the amount of reflections and other eyecandy for the fireworks, it should continue without a hitch.
i5 4590 and medium - dinamic settings in 1080p. V-sync on on 60 fps.
If i play without page file,in a point of a race the game says i haven’t enough memory. I tried to play in low settings,720p,without 30fps,… and stuttering is the same in all cases. I don’t know what can i do to run the game without stuttering. I think need a patch to fix the memory leaks (or use)
I play another games without problems (KI, GOW, rise of tomb raider,…) in medium/high settings without problems at 50-60 fps.
This game runs perfecet in 60fps but when starts to have stuttering is impossible do anything to fix it
