Solution to the latest content update

So for the past few weeks, I’ve read numerous complaints about the horizon edition cars, particularly the xp and skill boost versions.

I totally agree with people’s frustrations, that you can come in last place in a game of king, and still earn more xp than the winner, it was hugely unbalanced.

However, now the xp and skill boost have been removed from online, any he cars with those boosts on them are essentially redundant, more so as less people are playing single player.

I was a big fan of my brz and f type he, but I will essentially have no use for either of them, unless I play every exhibition, championship and or stunt using them, which kind of defeats the purpose of having so many categories of vehicles.

So what is the solution?

Simple, Xp championships are not amongst t10’s best ideas, and there is always going to be imbalance.
So why not just adopt the typical championship format from single player? Allocating points based on your finishing position, for both races and games. This will make it fair for everyone, and would enable he cars to be used online without giving anyone an unfair advantage.

What does everyone else think?

Or add “style” races or whatever you want to call them that is like a drift lobby in motorsport? Most drift point or xp or whatever wins. Then give out championship points based on finishing position. So one championship of online adventure could be something like:

race 1: standard sprint race - points given based on finishing position

race 2: drift point / xp race - most points/xp wins, could be either time based, lap based, or probably even in sprint format and then again points given based on finishing position

race 3: infected (or any other game) - works same way as current and championship points based on finishing position

race 4: circuit race - points given based on finishing position

Whoever has the most championship points at the end gets 1st place, bigger xp bonus and most money because that would make sense. So the people that just want to “drift to win” can have their own “style race only” lobbies and the people that want to just race can have “race only lobbies”, and then there would be the normal lobbies that are a mixed bag. I might actually do more online adventure if I thought trying to finish 1st had a purpose, but nerfing the HE cars didn’t seem like the way to “fix” the problem to me. As it stands I play motorsport for “real” racing and horizon for mostly cruising, drifting, and playing the car game I dreamed of as a kid. But to be fair to Horizon racing I do like the rally races and I love running Goliath like it is the Isle of Man.
