I was late onto the Forza series picking up Forza 3 but never really racing it and picked up Forza 4 some time ago and although enjoying it (especially the ability to drive the Nordschlief once again… something I had not been able to do since the days of Grand Prix Legends in my PC simming days) I never really got into it as much as I had hoped.
I enjoy the F1 series of games from Codemasters (not sim I know but still incredibly fun to drive in my view) and have been racing in a great league for the past 4 years with it. I picked up Grid Autosport when it was released which is an immense amount of fun despite it’s known issues and also used to race Race Pro which is probably the closest thing to a sim on the Xbox that I have played.
I would however like to try to get myself properly into Forza 4 especially after reading this thread and seeing the passion so many of you still have for it. Organised racing is what I prefer to take part in rather than the lobby type racing which my experience of has never been particularly good so if anyone has any advice, links to leagues, clubs, etc. they would like to share I would be very grateful.
It will probably take me a while to get anywhere near competitive but am hoping to find something that will spur me on here.
I have been away from playing it for ages but have finally replaced my Xbox 360 and plan on getting back on there. I’m well off the pace but do try to race clean.
Ditto. Exactly my story. I never play online though…it would be bumper cars. I like driving the cars I’d see on the street in real life…the sporty ones…Viper,Vette,ZL1, BMW Mcars., GTR. Although, last time I hopped into a S class Vette/Viper I was pretty good?against the computer on “hard” just started the professional level and learning the nurburgring simultAneously.
Played my first game in ages tonight and I am defiantly I need of some game hours. Did struggle to find an online lobby tho. I think once I finally win one of my eBay bids on a wheel and peddles I may have more luck and want to get properly involved. Speaking on wheels I’m looking at the Microsoft force feedback one is this a good budget place to start?
Yes, the MS wheel is very good for the money. The only downside is they’re not very durable under heavy usage, but if your looking to get in with something on the cheap, it’s a great way to get your feet wet!
I just recently decided to knock the dust off of FM4 to continue on my career game and try my hand at painting again. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it in FM3.
the racing is much more competetive and cleaner on line than fm5 i have found im still juggling between the 2 games the racing on fm4 seems to have more adults playin online than fm5 and the odd occasion i have been knocked off the track in fm4 i get a message of the other racer apologising on fm5 they laugh and shout get over it in there unbroken voices lol
started playing it again. gonna try to get every manufacture up to 50 and own every car so i’ll have completed every forza. i play offline, online is too much of a hassel. use gold for the free games tho. then maybe i’ll start maxing affinity for every manufacture in fm5. honestly between the two i prefer 4 to 5. i hope they pull a master chief collection with the forza series and release them the pre fm5 games on a single disk with all dlc included. i want a modern fm1, its still my favorite game in the series.
Waiting for Forza Horizon 2 release, I played again FM4 today
I only did 35% of FM4 career before Xbox One release so I have now something to do for next 2 weeks
Handling is so nice in Forza games, that you could come back after 6 months of FM5 and be able to stay on track and have fun with FM4
