So about free play races...

If i dont win and i get absolutely ZERO rewards, why does it double down and actually punish me by destroying active mod cards too? is getting nothing not bad enough, it has to give nothing then take something? Whats next, randomly losing cars if i dont use mods? lol

I Just feel like thats a pretty lame mechanic that benefits no one and accomplishes nothing.

You should get something for the lower down places. If you’re doing long races of more than 5 or 6 laps and have steering and braking set to Super Easy you don’t get anything, but it still uses your mods. Most people are finding this out the hard way. It’s done to stop people rubber-banding their controller and going off to do something else, leaving the race running. UNfortunately there’s no warning if you select these options, so you don’t find out until the end of the race…

You should get paid fully for free play races…UNLESS you use a rental car, then you get NO PAY.

ah yes, I forgot about the rental car thingy as well.

i did a 20 min timed race at the brickyard speedway in my BMW FE car to try and get a rough payout compare between it and my camaro FE car. I won in the camaro but didnt win in the BMW. Was rewarded nothing and had my mods consumed

/sigh lol

hey look at that between my OP and this post i have gone up 100ish tier points… but i turned the xbox off before posting this (cause i was frustrated at the no payment/lost mods thing! lol)

I found the Nissan FE to be the fastest stock 50% FE car around the oval. Can get around 54s per lap if I remember correctly :0) Camaro though obviously offers 100% bonus if you get up over 150mph, whereas you’ll only ever get 50% in the BMW

i was doing a bit of experimenting with things the camaro could easily hit the 100% threshold if i broke homogolation but i gave up with that - the ai’s kept spawning hypercars that just completely killed dead my camaro in straightline speed and cornering. The 50% reward race with homogolation on was fun cause it was close and i got 800k or something for the hour i spent doing it. Was pumped to see how the BMW would stack up but sadly i’ll never know. Race ended and i hit exit to return to the menu to do my maths but it just dumped me in the menu gave me no xp no money added a use to 2 of my mods and outright consumed the 3rd.

Im not hardcore i dont play uber settings, i did have the ai’s on the 40% difficulty in the BMW and having raced and won a hard and fun fought battle in the camaro i figured i’d be able to do the same in the different car (and class). the 40% setting is usually the highest i go

Set 2 buckets the first one will be your car and the other one will be you opponents car.
Example: Bucket 1 for you Camaro, upgrade it past the homologation treshold. Set max PI to match your cars and 1 driver min/max.
Bucket 2 add similar cars to your Camaro (don’t know which division it is) , set the scoring system so that you’re not doing a 1/1 vs 23/23 drivatars an ensure you’ll win a lot more money.
I usually grab a HE car, set a 20-25 laps race, use unbeatable (it’s easy if you’re first and way above their perf. index) and round it up with some mods, this way you have these following bonuses:
-100% for your HE Car
-100% Drivatar difficulty
-100% VIP bonus
-100% mods bonus (ore more depends on your mods)
This should do the trick

Ok this looks really interesting I just have to ask how do i go about setting up the different “buckets” I have seen that term used but i dont know what it refers too /hides

In free play in race setup on the 2nd tab (ADVANCED RULES) the 4th option is ‘number of buckets’. Changing this into 2, 3 or 4 will give you the option to adjust the cars allowed for each bucket.

highjacking this thread real quick cause me and a friend have got a problem with free play too.

We sometimes don’t get the drivatar-bonus and have no idea why.
Example: 2 hours Daytona with unbeatable Drivatars.
We both got no Drivatar-Bonus and I think it switches itself back to average.

Is that a known problem?

Timed races don’t give you drivatar difficulty bonuses (another bug / omission?)

wow, thx.

Just a tip for using the ´69 Camaro FE: I think there is a BlitzHirsch7809 tune, that is conform to homologation and it gives you enough speed (about 254 km/h) to get the extra 50% bonus. Tested this at Daytona tri-oval and it worked (with Drivatars set to unbeatable I lapped No.2 position car in lap 49 of 50, getting lap times around 57.2 seconds/lap ). Circa 48 minutes for 50 laps.

I found that the Camaro will hit the 150mph with it’s stock tune. To really make it fast without adding an parts just max the tire pressures and minimize the spoilers. Lapped the field 4 times in a 30 lap race on Pro

.Occasionally I have had it not payout the Difficulty which I have set to Pro and never rented a car but in those cases, even the appropriate tally box is missing completely. I don’t mind the mod cards although rarely use them because if disaster strikes it seems to at times count as the use of the card. These are probably glitches that will get ironed out but they certainly exist. Only thing I noticed that might trip it off is when you are at a certain level of experience but not quite there and find yourself flicking between 2 Difficulty settings ie Expert/Pro due to the complexity of tracks Since I left it at Pro I have never missed the bonus. If I finish a race and get thru to the boards I cant say I have ever received nothing for a race or even placing.

CTD determines the end of my race too often which obviously have no payout either. I guess that could be considered a timed race… Like borrowed time.
