Single player AI is

… not too shabby, ngl. Played Open D, the robots competed respectfully and seemingly with more skill than when I last played SP. Also no weird brake-checks.

Yeah the AI has had some great progress thanks to T10 however they are not all the way 100 percent good just yet. Depending on the division, class and or type of cars you can either have some real good close tough racing or you can have some annoying bumper car filled weird driving AI cars racing against you. Even after numerous updates the AI still needs some tweaking here and there so we will see as time goes on what T10 does.

Did I miss an update or something? They still run me off the track. On the first lap pushing my rear bumper until I go off track. Braking for no reason and letting off the gas on Daytona in the turns and other tracks they just drive like crap. Weird driving lines, sudden darting when there trying to negotiate a turn causing the front tires to scrub hard and lay black marks, over run the turns and fly off the track. Very difficult to push them off the driving line act like they’re glued to the track. I’m far from impressed.

Yea i dunno what this guys talking about. Ive been playing gt7 recently and its like night and day. You can run inches away from them without having to worry theyre going to brake on a straight or do whatever other weird things they do. That’s not to say they don’t have their moments, but much much better than forza.

Haha, yeah… I see now that I was a bit ‘broad’ with my sentiment. There are some tracks where the robots still haven’t a clue how to drive. Watkins Glen chicane is all kinds of wth.

Seems like things are getting better overall though. Hope some more effort is put into this.

I think theres times where the ai can seem fine, only to have it completely ruined the next. These inconsistencies can be race by race or even within the same race. Personally, i havent seen any improvement when it comes to the ai’s consistency, they make the same mistakes and are just as unreliable as they were at launch.

The AI is as broken as the game is.
They said they have improved it several times.
To no avail.
Too little too late.

The AI isnt as bad as when the game launched, thet are a lot better. That being said more tweaks still need to be made and I think one of those needs to be an agression slider.

The AI may have had some improvements but the main issues still remain. They still brake check, have no spatial awareness and generally treat you as if you aren’t there and still drive like Max while ahead of you before turning into Perez once they get overtaken.

You mean GT7 is better? With Sophy turned on - I agree. With standard GT AI - no way, Forza is much better. GT bots are just plain mindless, they will push you of the track at corners just to follow their racing line.

since the new update the Ai has become even more insonsistent, did the D class open series with the 85 commodore. I have always raced on difficulty 3 because its the perfect difficulty that i can start last and finish 1st without overlapping anyone.

after the update i got 7th on eagle rock, 1st on silver stone by 15 seconds, and 3rd on suzuka.

i looked up on the rivals leaderboards to see where these AI would rank, on eagle rock they would be top 15%, on silverstone top 60% and on suzuka top 40%. this is not how difficulty 3 should be, so ill just plop it down to 1 so i wont have any challenge at all becuase its frustrating to lose to Ai on such a low difficulty when i can get in the top 10-20% without using modded cars in rivals.

Yeah, that kind of nonsense is why I use the option in the game’s accessibility settings to turn off car-to-car collisions in single-player events & ghost all the AI/NPC drivers.

It kinda defeats the purpose of racing against AI, but the janky AI takes the fun out of racing them anyway. :man_shrugging:

Didn’t one of the old forzas have career difficulty locked? Maybe that’s what they’re doing here but just not telling us.

i have never had any difficulty in career since launch, then this update drastically increased the inconsistency. ill test it some more tonight when i do the c and b class events

Something changed. Level 4 used to be no problem at all. Since Mustang Month, the top 3 cars have been tough to keep up with. Granted, that is in free play and with that annoying 25 P.I. disadvantage… So maybe that is the real issue?

I think both gt7 ai’s are superior to forzas. Getting knocked into by the ai happens in every racing game including this one as no ai is perfect, nor are the players for that matter. Gt7s base ai are slow, but are consistent in their actions, they also react much faster and more accurate to the player than forza does. They also follow blue flag rules unlike forzas ai.

I think for the most part this game has some of the worst ai i have played against in recent memory. Besides their bad habits, they arent effected by tire wear like the player and only as of this recent update are effected by changing weather during the race.

Its pretty much the same, every issue pointed out at launch still exists today. This can change race to race, as even restarting a race can see a difference, but certain deficiencies always remain.

They still brake check, something that once again has supposedly been “reduced” with this past update this should not be thing, yet has always been a thing in forza.

They still drive off the road at certain corners, this usually affects at least a quarter of the grid, lap after lap off the track. If damage is turned on they wreck themselves, pit and do it all over again. Ive seen ai pit 17 times in a 20 lap race.

P1 still is unchallenged by the other ai, allowing it to gain a lead. The cars behind still seemingly create road blocks slowing everyone elese down including the player allowing p1s lead to get even bigger. P1s speed is also not about skill its about the place. If you slow down the p1 ai and let it get past by other ai, it wont make any impression the rest of the race. The next ai in line will then have the original ais pace.

They arent affected by tire wear at all, this allows them to pit much later than the player screwing up endurance races. This past update finally makes them affected by changing conditions ie if it started raining and they were on slicks it had no effect on them.

They still are incapable of passing eachother as well as the player unless its a blatant opportunity. If you pass and pull in front on a straight they will still jam on their brakes. This was slightly remedied on oval tracks after the nascar update, but only the ovals.

Ai is never perfect, some games are better than others, but this game is largely inferior to any in similiar circumstances. Its worse than its predecessors in many respects and in over a year of multiple “tweaks” it retains its position as worst ai in a non arcade racing game.

Level 4 in Single Player career for this featured/open tour so far feels like it did around launch, where the top 5-10 cars feel artificially faster than my vehicle despite my car having the highest P.I. rating and being tuned pretty optimally.

I didn’t notice that as much during the Mustang or NASCAR tours.

Pretty sure FM4 had difficulty locked for World Tour, but you could still do the event races at any difficulty of your choosing.

I’ve been playing Automobilista 2 recently so returning to FM has been a real struggle in terms of AI. Turn 10 have a long way to go… It is a lot better since launch though
