Should we have race licenses for online?

^ as this is similar to license system i can say there are 2 problems with this. 1. This only works when you have a decent participation level being raced. so if you are playing during the late hours of the night either you are going to be racing alone, or still racing with the same people. B. What would the licenses restrict? Would they just be used for lobby placement? If so to me this is a poor grouping category. Some tracks have really bad limits which would add time penalties easily just for trying to drive at the limit. If you are going to use time penalty for grouping then the time penalty for crashing needs to be massive to differentiate between those that slightly push the limits and those that are constantly getting into accidents. In iracing for example, they have 1 incident point for going beyond track limits but have 4 incident points for contact with another car. Also with that said, the safety license in iracing restricts the series you can compete in and even this doesnt work as people work to increase their safety license to drive the cars they want.

Well, hopefully by FM8, some of the track limits are revised. They work well for the most part but the main problems are these:

  1. You receive a penalty if you don’t have at least 2 tires on the track at the same time. Imo, reducing this to 1 tire would improve the limits immediately.

  2. Certain tracks just have poor limits, Sebring for example. They just need to re-draw the lines for the tracks that are poor.

If they do both of these for FM8, that should pretty much fix issue number 2 you raised or at least help that issue.

Participation level is just down to whether the next game is good enough or not really. If it’s a good game, marketing is done well and if they manage to gain and retain a player base, that problem shouldn’t be too bad.

There are a few things I would like Turn 10 to do in addition. I think that people either hand to complete X percentage of career mode or X amount of miles offline to even allow them into multiplayer.

Before allowed into multiplayer, I would like there to be an un-skippable video tutorial explain the track limits, driver etiquette, Forza Race Regulations, and hopefully, if its there, the licensing system. Also, perhaps just a few physical scenario tutorials could be really good.
