Unfortunately I’d say 30% of the multi class lobbies are like this. Do you guys think that it should randomly select a group for players once they get into the server?
I think make it so people can pick their group up to a point, but maybe once one group has sat 25-35% more then the others, the next people to join get put into the less populated groups.
Yeah, you’re right. Most people tend to gravitate towards the highest class (except when p class comes around)
I love the multi class lobbies and i also love i have the choice to choose which class i can race in but the downside is what you’ve described
My only concern of forcing pepole into a specific class is they will just quit out and find another lobby. Multi class are my favourite lobbies but for whatever reason they don’t seem overly popular, i’ve been in lots of lobbies with just a handful of players.
I think they should be blocked off in 4 so you get free choice but if there’s already 4 in one class and 1 in each of the others then lock out the full 4 block until other 2 classes are full in 4 block too then unlock again.
If you desire to race in a class that’s locked at the moment then quit and come back and see but is quite simply the easiest solution to fix this
The game puts you into a class of car that you weren’t familiar with or maybe didn’t have a car setup for. This wouldn’t make me very happy. Multiclass looks nice in reality, then you got some lower class car blocking your pass at each turn and straightaway, would frustrate me.
The issue I have is out of 24 slots if a lobby if divided evenly with 3 choices its 8 and if 4 choices its 6. Now if you are high skill, getting competitive drivers out of the remaining 7 slots because I take one is less likely. Even in a 24 driver lobby you might only get 5 like skill drivers in competitive groups.
I don’t think this game has big enough total grid sizes for 4 classes.
24 cars split evenly across 4 classes means you only have 6 per class. I don’t like doing any race with fewer than 10 opponents because it makes it harder to find a good rival on-track for my pace level.
For Featured Multiplayer, I don’t think there should be 3 or 4 class races, only 2, that gives 12 per group in an even split. Then in the lobby settings you set it up so that the max in a group is 13 or 14 (this is a feature that already exists in Free Play) and if a group is full you gotta do the other one.
Also, as somebody mentioned previously, if people are openly avoiding a class, maybe that class isn’t fun enough to play in and shouldn’t be featured in the future in Multiclass.
E class shouldn’t be in featured MP imo, you can’t do so much on cars so when you like to put some upgrades, this class is pointless, and the soft meta tyres doesn’t help.
D class suffer less from the upgrade problem, but one problem still remaining (for me) :
The experience of this class (and E too) would be better if the max quality of compound allowed was locked on street tyres.
I have no problem with using street tyres against race on C, i can have fun and good race even if i’m slower like this, but not on D class, and i would go further for E class by allowing stock tyres only
I’m just not interested about the challenge of doing the best lap (i will go for slick then), but the challenge of who is gonna make a best use of the limited grip due to poor tyres for achieve to win, and i find it even more fun because those class doesn’t have power
It doesn’t need less or more skills than using higher compounds, it’s just a vision of the race i find more interesting for E/D class
What you quoted is not my opinion though. Locking in streets would open PI up to add more power to the vehicles. That’s a fact based on the PI system in its current implementation. The opinion comes in when you make a value judgement (good thing or bad thing).
Yeah, but you said “all you would do” , so yeah in regard of pi.
But using street tires if you look further would also change how everyone on the track drive, not because of power only, but also to the lack of grip who is still present, even if using street or race wasn’t change the cost of pi
Limiting certain classes to certain tire compounds only makes cars have a similar level of performance in the corners and it would likely make racing closer and possibly cleaner since everyone will have to start braking at the same distance. Less blocking on corner exits as well. Everybody benefits.
I said this on here like 8 months ago. I just think locking in streets is a bad idea. Limiting grip and therefore increasing power will make close racing more difficult for inexperienced players.
Right, which is what you get in higher classes. The higher you get in class, regarding street cars, the power to grip levels change so that it’s more power with less grip. My opinion is this is a bad idea.
