[SGC_] WildcatKNH Designs - Directory in OP - (Porsche 918 Spyder race livery added)

New layout looks very nice and I can’t wait to see what’s next from you!

Next project … body kits. I’ve never tried a body kit on anything before, but looking at some of the work that some of you guys do has me inspired to give it a try. Since this is a first for me, I’d really appreciate some feedback and advice from those of you who’ve done kits and body mods before. I studied some body work that others have done and it looks mainly to be proper shading and correct angles to make the kit parts look authentic. Let me know what you think … good or bad.

The first two pics below are the untouched Jag from the front-quarter and rear-quarter. The next two pics include my body-kit work so far. If I get the body mods looking good enough, then I’ll add some paint and vinyl and share it if it turns out okay. Hope you enjoy …

2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe Widebody

Thats not bad!

Few tweeks can see…
Rear arch goes through the rear light (just move it back so it touches the sharp edge)
The vent near the door looks too sharp and needs to flow around the arch more.

Q: Are you using masking or transparent layers so you can have a design under the whole car??

The main thing with bodykits are more layers (lots more layers than you think!) and less transparency to build up the shading gradually.
I tend to go with 6% max on white and blacks upto 15-20% max (depending on the base colour you use)
The lighting isn’t great in editor mode (its too bright) but take it on track on default the settings to 50/50 and you’ll see if too dark or too bright. A good colour to use is a light pink (far right, 2nd up from bottom is a good one i use all the time)

Drop me a note or message if you need any help will be happy to do so!

[AB]

Very good start but I feel like everything is a little too dark. As AB said the lighting is way to bright compared to the track. I also agree about the vent near the door. I think it would look alot cleaner without it. Sometimes less is more when it comes to body kits if you know what I mean.

+1. What I would also say is remember that things that are meant to be horizontal extensions should be lighter and the things beneath them should be darker. It looks like a pretty promising start though.

Great paints so far mate. Really like the Urus!

Thanks for the comments, CWM. Also, I really appreciate the feedback from everyone on the Jag body kit project.

Just a couple of WIP updates.

Jaguar F-Type Widebody - Looks like this project may be a longer term project. What I have so far just doesn’t look authentic to me and based on feedback and tips some of you have given, I still haven’t figured out the techniques that are used to get authentic results. I’ll keep poking along on this as I really think the kits add a lot, but don’t expect a finished design for a bit.

I know there are some around here that think that street racer designs and paints look a little better here and are more suited to the H2 environment that pure race car liveries. After thinking about it some, I think I agree and will probably turn to those styles of paints for most of the cars in my garage in this game. I’ll probably still do some full-on race cars or replica liveries … but I like the street racer idea as something you’d more likely see out on the streets in the French Riviera.

With that in mind, here’s a sneak peek at my next WIP … our cover car … the 2014 Huracan. Still work to be done, but here’s the base design so far.

2014 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4

How you getting on with the Jag kit Wildcat?!

[AB]

Not so good. Still trying to figure out what shapes, colors, transparencies and proper positioning to use to get the realistic look that many of you guys are so good at. I’ll keep trying things, but gonna work on some other projects while I’m at it.

Quick update on the Huracan WIP. Finished up some logo work. Just a few more details to clean up and this one will be done.

If you’re wondering why this pic may seem just a bit blurry … it was taken at 200+ mph. The in-game camera even seems to have a hard time keeping up with this machine …

its looking good

OMG!! Love the Huracan!! Going to have to buy another one just to show off this livery!

The Huracán is finished and shared.

Just a little background on this design idea. One of my favorite designs from FM5 was an original creation for the WRX STi that featured a fictitious race team called Bad Boy Racing. That design was also my first T10 livery contest winner. Well, I am bringing the Bad Boy team over to FH2 … under the name of Bad Boy Motorsports. BBM will be creating lots of original designs here in Horizon 2 … and this Huracán is the first of those.

I put a couple of fun little things in this design. (Well, at least, fun to me.) Like a custom Italian license plate that says “I FLY”. And a “DANGER: Jet Intake” warning decal in front of the air intakes on each side. Hope you enjoy …

For exact visual match, use:
FH2 Race front bumper
FH2 Race rear wing
Race springs
OZ Superleggera III Forged wheels
20" rear rims
20" front rims
345/25R20 rear tires
275/25R20 front tires

Yep, this is going in my garage TONIGHT!! Fantastic job mate, love the design! The jet intake is a nice little touch. Ride on BBM!

Roach, glad you like it. And I hope it serves you well.

Appreciate it AB. Just wanted to come up with something a little unique for a Bad Boy logo.

Nice Huracan, always a a fan of cool typography and the “BadBoy” looks great!

[AB]

Oh … one more thing. For anyone who’s keeping notes, there’s a paint glitch on the passenger side (right side) of the Huracán. Very small one just in front of the air intake in front of the rear wheel.

Awesome letterwork aside, the base for that thing is sick! I love it.

Appreciate the comments, Face.

Okay, a new WIP. Time to bring out my first replica in FH2. Some of you may recognize this one right off the bat. Any guesses? I’ll update as progress is made.
