I have turned off launch control but it remains on. Turning it on and off seems to fix it temporarily, but once you restart the game the same thing happens.
I’ve seen multiple people have this same problem.
It is in my opinion even useless as singleplayer and online races straight go to GO and so have no time to use it.

Hey everyone. With the introduction of Launch Control assist I’ve noticed weird behaviour of gearbox. Regardless of what gearbox assist we have turned on, when launch control is activated, the game seems to override gearbox assist too because during launch control procedure the game thinks it’s in Manual rather Manual w/ Clutch. It doesn’t happen when used with Automatic transmission assist. As soon as launch procedure ends, the clutch can be used again.

Is that not by design?
LC is doing the work so you don’t have to clutch. What are you trying to do during a launch?
Please provide more information to help the Forza team’s investigation, such as platform, other settings, which car being used, which game mode, any related events such as at the start of game or after quick resume or fast travel etc.

Fresh game start.
LC is off in settings but not actually off, still active on all cars as indicated by icon on UI and being able to use it.
Need to go into settings, set LC to on, save, set to off, save to resolve but this needs to be done every single time I start the game.

Was really hoping this would have been fixed already.
Same issues, @Lens00788814159 explained it perfectly. Every time the game boots it still shows the launch control option as off but the mechanic is still very much on, start any race and the HUD icon for LC will light up and the car will do its usual Launch Control start (when it isn’t suddenly rocketing in reverse due to the Season 20 bug.)
Go into options, see the game claiming LC is already set off, turn it on, save settings, turn it back off where it should be, save, enjoy actually not having launch control until the game is either restarted or inevitably crashes.

Similar issue here. I have traction control off in the options, but LC will still activate momentarily at the start of a road race. Specifically, the LC light will actually turn on momentarily if I hold just the throttle alone. Tested this on the new oval track. My real issue is that I am locked out of changing gears for about 1 to 1.5 seconds at the start of a race and is costing me time. I would rather control launches myself with my own throttle control and timed gear changes.

Bug: Launch Control keeps turning back on after every restart

I have had this issue since the content update for Series 20, but for some reason I thought it’s already a known issue. As it turns out, it isn’t.
Every single time I turn on the game after turning off Launch Control in the assists menu, it somehow manages to turn back on after booting up the game again despite showing that it’s disabled in that menu. Enabling and disabling it ““fixes”” the issue, but I think I shouldn’t have to do that every single time I boot up the game if I disable it once.

It was moved to “known issues”. I believe the number at the end of the title is the bug number pgg track the issue with.
