I see people are tired of the drift cars and Hoonigan cars. I’m a drifter, yet I do other styles of motorsports in these games, because I tend to like driving all around. Being that I’m a drifter, you would think I use the Formula Drift cars all the time. Nothing can be farther from the truth. I rarely use them because they have race tires on them, and I drift mostly on stock compound tires. I still get in them from time to time, because they are a hoot to drive.
Anyway, for years and years Forza has had maybe 2 or 3 actual professional drift cars in the games. The ones off the top of my head are the Ryuji Miki’s Top Secret Nissan Silvia S15 that was driven in D1 Grand Prix (that car was the 2004 championship winning car), and Rhys Millen’s Red Bull Hyundai Genesis that was driven in Formula Drift in 2009. So 2 pro drift cars in 13 years. None of the Hoonigan cars are pro drift cars, and if you say Ken Block is a drifter, I already hate you. So in 2018 we get drift suspension, a Formula Drift pack with 6 or 7 cars, Fortune Island has a long drift section (it’s not a drift expansion, so stop calling it that), we are now getting a few more drift cars, and everyone is crying about there is too much drifting going on. Dude, chill. How many years of endless race cars and supercars have the drifters endured while we would get a few scraps from time to time? We even had a few beloved drift cars taken away when Toyota dipped out.
Again, I don’t really use the FD cars much, but it’s cool to have them in the huge variety of cars that is offered in Forza. I never complained about too many race cars. I guess everything is fun to drive for me.
To those who complain about the drift achievements because they can’t drift, I suggest learning it. You’d be surprised how much fun it is, and how much you learn about driving.
