I really need some help on how to complete this PR stunt as it’s blocking me from getting the Capri
To give a background I was travelling from 21st March 2019 until 31st March 2019. So this means I missed the entire Autumn season and 1 daily from Winter. So my percentages are as below…
Summer - 100%
Autumn - 24%
Winter - 99%
Spring - Currently 90% (Remains 3% from daily and 7% from PR stunt)
So even if I finish all dailies, for Series reward I’ll end up at 79%… My 3 weeks of hard work hinges on completing that drifting PR stunt.
Problem is I was never interested in drifting so I never tried to learn. My only drifting experience so far is during forzathon live events. Last 3 days I have been going through a hectic search, preparing many drifting cars (Nissan 240, Hoonigan Mazda, Formula Drift etc) but none of them help me hit the target which is 54k. (My PB so far is 37k in that event after 3 days of trying).
I usually drive in automatic, but in this event I tried manual as many suggested. But it’s so hard and I’m not even hitting 5k if I use manual. So I would prefer to know how I can complete it using automatic.
Looking forward to know how I can complete this. I feel terrible thinking I’m not gonna win this…
I don’t see why manual would be harder than automatic? You shouldn’t change gear at all during the drift zone. Try it a few times in different gears to see which one works best in the car you’re using. Also, just to be clear, you need to use manual, not manual with clutch. Manual with clutch is much harder as you need to manually apply the clutch when you use the handbrake, or it will bog down.
I don’t know if this helps at all, but here is my 71k effort:
I suck at drifting, so it’s pretty rubbish, I just kind of string a few pathetic little drifts together with no real flow from each drift to the next, and significant periods of not racking up points when someone better would still be scoring.
About the only tip I can give from it is look at what I do at the end, where I let the car rotate more to score more points. You can only do this at the very end of a drift zone, as obviously it causes the car to go totally off the road immediately after the last flags, but there are a lot of extra points scored by doing that rather than trying to stay on the road after the last flags.
I used the #25 RTR Mustang, my tune is shared. Gears are set to manual not manual with clutch, and as you can see, I just leave it in 4th gear all the way.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I’ll be in game in another 8 hours and will try my best again. Glad to hear that you managed to hit 71k without being expert. i was thinking maybe only experts can hit that target.
ok that’s one mistake. I read somewhere we should go in high gear and lower it as we enter the corner. Doing this along with drifting was difficult for me. May be as you suggested I’ll use different fix gears and try first…
I never tried manual with clutch so far and I don’t have intention either…
Traction Control off. Manual gears. Choose a car with a drift tune. Bang the car in 2nd gear. To get a points advantage enter the drift zone already going sideways.
Best tip: Hit the rewind button every time you mess up or don’t get enough points for a small section. Nail the zone piece by piece using the rewind button.
I cannot believe I didn’t think of using the rewind during drift. It’ll be really useful I believe. Tuning wise, yes I have 3/4 cars applied with drift tune…
Rewind shouldn’t be available for something like this.. you were correct to think in not using it, it’s like a cheat, it should only be available for offline races and free roam but not in the middle of free roam events..
Most, if not all, of the drift zones in this game are fine in a single gear, no shifting required. The gear controls the speed, the throttle controls how much the rear steers. Try it in 2nd, if you’re not going fast enough to get around the corners, try it in 3rd, etc.
Another tip, AWD drifting is much easier to control in this game. I generally use an AWD Torana with one of the popular drift tunes and it makes things pretty simple. I’m not a drifter, so I need all of the help I can get.
I also avoid drifting, but when I do, I use the formula drift viper in automatic (don’t laugh at me). Traction control and stabilizers off. Keep it on the road and you should be good.
I do understand now why many people complain about it. I spent so much time and still not able to get the car because of 1 single event. So if a person doesn’t want to play multi player they don’t stand a chance at all…
I recomended using formula drift viper and i personaly use tiptronik tune. Just set up manual and 4th gear and try to avoid goind too wide, and remember you can abuse rewind function. Also good tip is enter zone at high speed and use handbrake to get car goind sideway and you should be able to get nice amount points allready in first corner. I share 3 minute video me doing that drift zone, im not drift expert either but i got 80-100k on that drift zone.
My xbox was super slow to load that video, but here it is finally, still far from perfect and almost every time i lose at least some amount of points going too wide.
…From the playlist percentage “rounding up or down” discussion…, i would say u’r 79% is as good as 80%…, so u could just as well be rewarded for u’r effort (maybe everyone with atleast 75%)
I did it - as all other drift zones aswell - in the Gymkhana Focus. You do not need a special tuning, use the stock car even with tc on, but manual shifting. Stay in 2nd or 3rd gear and use rewinds.
That’s a good adivice. Gymkhana cars are ok for casual drifters. No need to build them specially, use the stock version. Rally cars are not bad also, especially on dirt sections as it is this season.
