Before in FM7 we had the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Pace Car, which sadly didn’t make it’s way onto the latest title. We had a number of cars where pace car lights could be placed on, however there wasn’t any options with the lights. This remains the case with the latest title, only for some reason the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 had it’s lights removed unless you place the widebody on…?
Many race leagues have a safety car but are limited to what they can choose. Meaning they’re not going with whatever car they actually wanted in the first place because of lack of safety car options. Some events also would have a safety car suitable, but such cars don’t have SC lights. A prime example would have been way back when TORA’s TEC wanted to use the 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV as their pace car. Which they went ahead with, accepting fate of using it without it’s lights which, didn’t look great but had to just be accepted by the community.
However, maybe we can go forward with something new here… We already have the cars, why not have multiple cars in the current upgrade menu able to use the “conversion” option in the upgrades menu to convert cars into safety cars. Once converted we can use the D pad options in an event in order to control what lights are being used. IE press UP for SC light options, then pressing an appropriate option on the D pad for which light you’d like to use, the traditional orange lights, a secondary light option? (Like how F1 has green lights). Let’s have some fun and put a lit up “safety car” in the rear windows, some additional lights through the windscreen, all sorts! Really F1 SC style some of these.
I’d advise on only allowing SC converted car for private lobbies, to save people being distracted in public lobbies.
