Turn 10 has always done a nice job with Sebring. FM23 is no exception. This is one time where all the activities alongside of the track is spot on for the track. I’m impressed.
Sebring in FM7 was terrible. The AI was vicious. The rain was awful. I don’t know how the rain will fair at the FM version of Sebring.
And I really can’t comment on the trackside rubbish. But I did a nice little Ginetta Cup 4 lap test run and it was a fun little race. The track and the AI, at least the Ginetta AI, was decent and nicely competitive at lvl 4.
So far so good. And I don’t usually have this much good to say about this game so this is big for me!
I’ll have to boot it up again and try it out, really wasn’t on my top list but any track is another track right
Edit: It’s better than in FM7 but…
The bumps don’t seem to transfer to the vehicle apart from the “bouncing” in the view, it really needs some more work so stiffer setups get unsettled.
I went around in the updated 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster(thumbs up for the engine note changes Turn10) and it seemed to feel very planted compared to FM7(of which was horrible)
The Track feels shorter than in FM7 which is a good thing and when it’s tweaked it should be a very interesting track to race in MP
It wasn’t so much the rain itself that was the issue, it was the puddles. Those things would spear you sideways so fast it felt like you’d broken a tie-rod
I never got the chance to drive at sebring. It’ll be my first time. Downloading the update right now!
So, what car you’ll take there first? I’ll use Cadillac V-series.R or Porsche 963.
This might just be a problem for me, but the track is almost blindingly bright when I am in cockpit view. Dashboard view is a little better. Any one else have this issue?
The puddles on this specific track on fm7 are the reason why I hated to race in the rain at all on fm7. With fm23 I don’t mind racing in the rain at all. The puddles in fm7 were a complete crap-shoot and it ruined the experience for me.
Wet weather in this game might as well not exist. Unless you have slicks on you wouldnt even know it was wet. Dynamic puddles should have been added to the dynamic weather, same with dry lines.
I agree that dry lines and puddles do add to the experience, but the puddles in FM7 (from memory Silverstone also suffered terribly) were almost cartoonish in their ability to upset the car, either by spearing you sideways or making it seem like you’d hit a brick wall whereas in reality if the conditions were that bad the race would have been red-flagged.
If dry lines were implemented though I’d also like to see rubbering-in lines to match the actual in-game feature. Would be foolish to have one and not the other.
Honestly though the puddles do make for a more interesting rain driving experience… I think as it is now it’s more of a mild inconvenience rather than a challenge
