Screen Flickering (GTX 860M)

EDIT 3: NEWEST INSIDER PREVIEW 14352 HAS FIXED THE FLICKERING

The game is always flickering when ever I try to play the game. It does not stop until I close the game.
The flickering is so bad that people with epilepsy would get seizures from looking at the screen.

I’m running a GTX 860M and I’ve heard that other people with the same card are having the same issue.
Other games run perfectly fine. I heard one guy had the same problem with Quantum Break so it might be a UWP issue with this card.

EPILEPSY WARNING:
This is what it looks like in game, although it flickers faster for me.

EDIT: Now my screen seems to have subtle flickering even with the game exited. I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers etc. but it’s still flickering when the game of not running.
Even in the BIOS the screen flickers. The only conclusion that I have is that Forza 6 Apex somehow broke my screen.

EDIT2: The flickering when out of game has since died down, so I think my screen is not broken after all.

Hi

I have the same problem, thought it was just me!

The game is constantly flickering and causing a headache when trying to play - might not be the best card on the market but some simple QA should have identified this hopefully a quick fix for Nvidia or Turn10.

Thanks

I to have this problem with my 860m.

Using a 880M, I am also having a lot of graphics flickering. It is hard to enjoy the game if it constantly flickers.

How do I access to more graphical options?

I have 4710hq + 860m 4gb + 16gb laptop and i do not experience any flickering. There are some minor tearing in game and major tearing in forzavista though. I changed graphic setting for the framerate from dynamic to 60fps and tearing in forzavista is gone (60fps feels good lol). Maybe this can help. Also, have you update nvidia driver?

I want to chime in and say I’m having the same flickering issues with my 960m.

I’m on a Dell Inspiron 7559 with the i5 6300HQ CPU and the 960M with 4GB VRAM. Just got it yesterday. Updated all the drivers yesterday. NBA 2K16 works fine. This game doesn’t.

Lenovo y700 i7 gtx 960m - same problem here, imposible to watch the screen

Same issue here. Lenovo Y50, i7 4700HQ, GTX860M 2GB, 16GB RAM. Screen flickers a LOT (don’t mistake for jittery FPS; it’s flickering on and off.). Laptop is plugged in.

I tried going into the video settings, but all I managed to get was a headache. I’ve set it to Ultra, and it didn’t work. Medium, and it didn’t work, then I quit.
I’m using the latest 365.10 drivers

Here’s a video I recorded. Make sure to play in 60fps
And, of course, EPILEPSY WARNING. and minor headache too.

Interestingly enough, if you change it to windowed (Alt + Enter), only the game screen will flicker. The desktop will be stable.

Thanks man I try to alt enter and than everything is okey  I playing this game on gtx 960m i7 5500u 16 gb of ram

It will still flicker, and the game will still be unplayable.
I just pointed out that only the game flickers, while the rest of… everything, doesn’t.

Flicker is finished for few minutes I repeat a lots of time in the race but alt enter not the fix us completely microsoft should make new update gtx 860m and 960m should run 1080p low settings but it is not

I also have Y50  and it works fine with my laptop  (maybe because vram size? i have 4gb)
Did you try to set target refresh rate to 60fps instead of dynamic in the settings?

My specs are:
Pro-Star (clevo w230ss - premamod bios)
i7-4710
16gb ram (2x8 kingston hyper x cl12)
samsung 850 evo msata 500gb
860m (2gb - maxwell)
wnidows 10 preview - 160422-1940

The flickering starts at launch and will cause you to have a seizure. The flickering does not stop in any section of the game (racing, menu,). I have attempted to change the video settings and integrated graphic settings from the intel to nvidia. Unfortunately, I have not been able to correct the issue. At this time the game is not playable as the flickering is just unbearable. Luckily I have forza 6 on the xbone. This appears to be a driver issue.

Same here. 860M 4GB, i7, 16GB RAM, on SSD with latest (tried beta and standard) drivers.

Thanks all for posting about this issue, we’ll pass on details for investigation and see if we can suggest a work-around.

Actually if your laptop has an integrated GPU as well as a dedicated GPU, can you try disabling the integrated graphics?

I have tried disabling the integrated graphics, but then my 860M doesn’t work properly. My laptop has Nvidia Optimus and I think the 860M works through my integrated graphics so it doesn’t know what to do.

I do have a Dell XPS 15 with an Intel 530 and an Nvidia 960m disabling the Intel 530 in the Device Manager, fixed the flickering issue for me. But i guess thats not a very usable Work-Around.

Hi, I have a 4k version of the XPS 15 with Intel 530/Nvidia 960M.
But after disabling the integrated GPU, I can’t even get into the game.
It said that I didn’t have the required equipment to play it.
Should I do anything else to make it work?

Well disabling the internal graphics card isnt a good idea anyway, since it only causes a mass of other problems.
