Saying goodbye to the Forums…

Entering into one of the most anticipated locations with the launch of FH6, it’s honestly with a heavy heart I read the news of the end of the Official Forza Forums.

I’ve spent quite a few years here, met a lot of great (and yes, some not so great :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:) members, made a lot of friends, shared in the excitement, frustrations, highs & lows, but it’s been pretty much a daily part of my routine forever it seems, so despite all the other areas of information exchange, still tough to see it go.

Just want to say a sincere thanks to all for the good times, support & community. Hope to see everyone across the various platforms in the future. Cheers all! :clinking_beer_mugs:

So long.

I genuinely do not understand why so many companies have decided that dedicated discussion forums are now worthless and have shifted their communities to platforms far less suited to organized in-depth discussions. And to not even archive all of the content here in some form feels like a total slap in the face.

I started playing FM7 in 2020 and joined the forums late in FH5’s lifespan, but I’m glad to have done so. Through these forums, I’ve learned many things, discovered amazing liveries, and made new friends. Because of this, I’d be lying if I said I’m glad to see these forums go. Thank you to everyone (well, most of you anyway) for the wonderful experience!

Honestly, you’d think they were actively attempting to avoid any sort of archive of information for users

Very disappointing news.

This is an incredibly, profoundly dumb decision and I don’t think it’s PGG or T10 who have made it. Someone higher up has made it for them and it’s someone who doesn’t understand social media.

A few weeks ago, FH4 stopped working on my brand new PC and this forum is the only place I found any suggestions for a fix that made sense. Reddit posts? Well, Reddit moderators are Reddit moderators and delete posts on a whim, or the users delete their own posts in protest. Discord, Facebook, Threads, Twitter? They’re volatile, not forums where you can find a discussion from ten years ago that help you fix a problem or engage in useful conversation. Forza Support? They send me links to the articles I’ve already read.

Plus, this has been a place for finding help with progress in the games, such as Treasure Hunt clues, suggestions on which car and tune to use for a challenge, and hints and tips on where to find things like bonus boards. Now all that will be fragmented across the Internet, where you cannot find it because the search engines prioritize sponsored links and replace actual summaries of the content with AI hallucinations. Plus, there will be a ton of links pointing here that will now be broken!

30 years ago I was thrilled that finally, web forums provided a way to communicate with other people. Now, the dumbing down of the Web is making everything non-informative, insubstantial, volatile, and pointless.

I might ask for a refund for my FH6 preorder now, because I don’t want to be left without a place for finding solutions and reassurance I’m not the only one with a problem if that game breaks too. It’s been quite a ride but if this goes through, I’m out.

While the chat portion of the forums is closing, we’re focused on receiving bug reports on the new Forza Feedback Portal. The Portal will operate the same way as the current Troubleshooting Hub section of the Forums does now, where players will report issues, upvote them, and continue to add comments to help others work around or diagnose the issue. The FH6 bug report menus will be active starting next week. Meanwhile the FH6 Discussion section will be available through May and June.

I’m with you on the value of threaded conversation, as I’ve been here daily for the past 15+ years and started off writing FAQs. We’re going to continue working to provide game info to the player community even without the Forums in place.
