I’m a recent convert from Gran Truismo and fell in love with painting the cars in Forza. In fact, I think I spend more time in the paint booth than I do driving! I am inspired by the awesome designers that I follow on here and my hats off to them, I wouldn’t enjoy doing this if it weren’t for them. I’m nowhere near as good as they are, but I hope one day I can be. I’ve been putting in a lot of time designing manufacturer logos so I can build my replicas and share them with the community. I hope I still have some hair left when I’m done!
I hope you like them and offer any constructive criticism.
First up is a Subaru BRZ. I lived about a hour away from the Nurburgring and while driving on the Nordschleife last year, I saw the BRZ and Toyota GT86 for the first time. A local Nurburg race car rental company, Rent 4 Ring, had several of these cars out on the track. I never had a chance to drive one, but I made sure to test drive the Scion FR-S when I moved back to the US.
I was watching the China F1 race and since I’m a big Merc fan, I had to do some sort of Mercedes. Since FM5 doesn’t have an SLS AMG racer, I used similar livery from the Petronas Racing Team’s SLS AMG onto a stock SLS AMG. All logos are my own design and this car is available for download.
I don’t mind designing logos, it’s fun. It’s putting stripes on cars that can really get me cussing up a storm. I almost punched my TV because of glitches on this car.
I finished this design last night. Took me a few days to recreate some vinyls I didn’t have in my library. The flag in the Toyota Swiss Racing logo is not accurate. I decided to just use one of the game flag vinyls to get it on the car until I can figure out how to do it right - it’s got me stumped how I’m going to recreate their fading flag that’s outlined with three lines. I’ve eventually figured out tricks to make other designs that have stumped me in the past, but this flag has really ticked me off. Hats off to you amazing designers out there, I really respect your designs because this s@#t is hard to me!
This is the Toyota Swiss Racing Team’s GT86 #200 that was used in the 2012 ADAC 24hr Nurburgring race.
Some really good stuff in here mate! Welcome to the community and enjoy your stay. I am liking the Petronas Mercedes and this last GT-86 us a gem. Good job!
Ah, I recognize the name! I’ve had to stop the feed lately due to horrible internet, but I’ll be back up again. I’m actually surprised that from time to time I get a few viewers that will watch me design vinyls.
Had to take a break from some frustrating designs and wanted to do something simple while I cooled off. The result is this fantasy model if VW started releasing German GP track inspired Sciroccos. This design was taken from a T-shirt I picked up at the Hockenheimring. If you’re in Germany, check this track out, it’s amazing. Like the Nurburgring, they also allow people to drive their cars on the track but not as often as the Nurburgring so if you do plan to drive on the track, check their schedule on their website as they will announce when they’ll have touristenfahrten.
This is the fantasy VW Scirocco R, GP Hockenheimring Edition, with sport exhaust, sport brakes, sport suspension kit, sport turbo, sport intake, sport this and sport that. sport. T-shirt design inspired racing stripes down the driver’s side with GP on the hood, GPHockenheimring decals on the back quarters and the GP Hockenheim Edition badge on the hatch. Carbon fiber spoiler and aero goodness.
