Hey guys. New to the forums but not to the game. I used to drift in Forza 2 and 3 but my xbox broke afterwards so I didn’t get back into Forza until now. Anyway drifting seems to require a little more practice in this game than some of the others and tuning is still very crucial. I’ve been tuning the RX8 for a drift setup and I just can’t seem to get it to feel “perfect”. I know tunes are ready to download right in the game but I miss the good old days when people used to post up open drift tunes on the forums (BRING THIS BACK PLEASE) so everybody could tinker with them and still be able to choose what wheels to put on the cars!!! Anyway this is my tune for the Mazda RX8…ANY feedback will be welcomed!

I play with all assists off, normal steering, and manual w/ clutch. It drifts well but transitions are sometimes iffy. Let me know what you guys think. Please tell me if anything looks funny.
Just change your front camber to somewhere between -0.8 to -0.4. Your getting a faster turn in response with higher camber which will make your car twitchy at transitions if your using a controller since you can instantly lock your steering with such little movement, so lowering it will get rid of most of the twitchtiness your are experiencing. Would recommend putting your accel on your differential to 100% to give you better throttle response in the corners as well.
So I tried messing around with the tune again based off of everybody’s replies and ended up changing front camber to -0.6 and rear to -1.2 which seemed to help a lot with transitions. When I locked the diff (100% on both ways) it started to become a little more unpredictable for me though…so I changed acceleration to 85% and deceleration to 20% and it seems to have helped. Maybe I’ll edit the first post to update those changes. I dunno if anybody wants to take a stab at building it and seeing how it performs but I think it does pretty well. Thank you to everybody that replied and keep the feedback coming!
I’ll try building one tonight! Nice to know it’s working a bit better for you. My drift setups are made to get me ridiculous angle on my drifts so it is VERY easy to spin out, it just take a ton of control.
Yea that’s the one thing with drift tuning…its gonna be slightly different for everybody since everybody has their own preference. I think this tune should provide a good baseline for anybody looking to build one of these though.
I drift with front camber -3.5!!! and it works for me…If you look at drift cars they always have crazy camber…
I wish there was a drift guide somewhere in here for FM6,it would help a lot…Especially those who drift with the controller like me…
Most of my drift tunes tend to be on skinny standard tyres with -5 to -3 front and -1 to -0.3 camber rear 3 to 3.5 toe front and 0.3 rear with max caster can take a bit more effort to control but will sit at near 90 degrees without spinning out perfect for bigger scores
