There are a few players I encounter regularly in B and C class circuit public lobbies who intentionally crash others off the track. My question: Does this type of behavior violate the Xbox Live Code of Conduct? If so, how do I report these individuals and get them banned? I am already using the “Prefer/Avoid” system.
First thanks all for responding. Using SnowOwls link I found an Xbox web page describing where crashing does in fact violate the COC.
I believe the process described by funky dunk 1977 must be for FM5, not FM4. However I’m not familiar with FM5 that much and I so can not speak to it.
Here’s what I’ve found can be done on FM4 to report infractions: On the offenders PERSONAL PROFILE page there are several options. The 2 having to do with complaints are “Submit Player Review” and “File Complaint”.
On the Player Review option all I can do is PREFER or AVOID the player. On the AVOID screen you can specify 1 of 3 reasons: COMMUNICATION, GAME BEHAVIOR, PLAYER SKILL Under the behavior option is UNSPORTING CONDUCT. But this is just for a player review, not a complaint. This player has been on my avoided list for a long time now and still I’m matched to lobbies he is in. And vice versa. So I don’t have too much confidence that Player Reviews do much.
On the File Complaint option there are 4 items to select from and NONE of them address in game behavior. Here they are:
PROFILE - The players gamertag, personal picture or personal info contains inappropriate material.
TEXT AND VOICE COMMUNICATIONS - The player used vulgar hateful harassing or threatening language in voice or text communication
VIDEO COMMUNICATIONS - The player was vulgar, hateful, harassing or threatening in video communications.
TAMPERING - The player tampered with a game, aconsole, Xbox Live or the feedback system.
That’s it. Nothing about crashing and nothing that allows me to supply a game replay to prove my point.
So my question has been partially answered: Yes, intentional crashing is a COC violation. But I cannot find a suitable way to report it to Xbox Live. If only the game would allow the UNSPORTING CONDUCT reasons on the FILE COMPLAINT screens, this would be a lot better system.
What is the complaint about, Game Behavior, correct? File it there. The griefing, wrecking, disruption of the normal racing is bad sportsmanship, and not tolerated on Xbox Live.
People like this are the exact reason I quit playing online. I got tired of filing complaints. It seemed to happen in 9/10 of the online races I played.
