MMMM!
Now call me salty and a sore loser and stuff, but the masses of AWD-tunings online that just smash RWDs and FWDs are insane.
As someone who exclusively drives RWD and FWD as AWD is just easy mode, I’d like to drive together with likeminded players who just won’t change every car into AWD and slap engine upgrades into it. In most lobbies I’m the only one who doesn’t use AWD.
Currently you either join into the madness or proceed to drive in the back, while speaking words of courage to yourself like “I’m actually pretty good if I don’t finish last”.
Not going to judge those who use these tunes, though. I just don’t have fun competing against them anymore.
Could you give me some directions, please?
Do a group search for FH3 and you will find plenty of people trying to get a rwd only or no swaps racing going. May be hit or miss but that is how I met a few people that I race with regularly now. Build some awd cars for random online encounters also. If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em.
Oh boi.
Group search? Mean those clubs ingame or other groups?
From the xbox home menu, the parties tab, between your login and friends list. There is less racing than other activities but you will probably find something. Or you could post your own using one of the larger xbox clubs, not the in game clubs, that have a large membership. You can belong to up to 20 clubs.
I don’t play online much. I actually like using stock cars or at least. Loved driving the new 2106 Porsche stock on Maroondah sprint.
However the LB times. It’s AWD and engine swaps to go for
If PG/T10 would bring back “pure skill” from H1. You’d have a venue to run online stock cars. (It was hopper that went through a 20 or so race rotation of everyone in same stock car- 250GTO; 70 charger, Wrx, zonda r, focus st… ran the gambit of classes and everyone was in the same car so it was your driving (or assists you didn’t use) - it was a blast. Every Friday/ Saturday nite. Getting on meeting same people and getting better by the week.

You, sir, are a true warrior.
Although most posts there seem to be interested in drags, cruises and simple car meets only, and willing players retreat if the party doesn’t start in a few minutes.
But I won’t give up.
THX 11-38 again!
To be even somewhat competitive in online races you must have you vehicle upgraded to AWD. Tuning is a complete different monster. All my cars are AWD and I tune all my cars. I know a lot of people just throw in a V12 and put everything on it and run it but there is much more involved. I get quicker times building a V8 and then tuning it with tire pressures, gearing, drag, springs, diff etc.etc.etc.
I am finding this is getting to be a real fun part of the game. I race pretty much exclusively online and only run offline when I am testing my cars, which is quite a bit.
You need to find your niche and run with whatever you find fun and enjoyable, that is what the game is about.
It’s interesting to read a few of you saying AWD are faster. I’ve learnt to drive AWD (In Forza, not the real world), and am now starting to think that I’ve hit the limit of what the cars are capable of. To be clear I play a lot of Rivals and am trying to get seriously fast lap times - at the moment I’m focusing on the Outback Figure of 8 track. I’m starting to look at RWD cars as they seem faster on that particular track - because of the speed and acceleration along the straights. I think, with skill, RWD can be faster, but it depends on the nature of the track you’re competing on.
Not sure if you’re already into tuning, but this guy’s videos have helped me a lot: Guns Cars and Digits - YouTube You’ll need a calculator, pen and some paper, along with some patience and willingness to get it wrong until you understand - depending on your maths, mine is basically ok. I can’t explain if his methods are ‘the best’ for Forza, but I can say that with a bit of thinking they make some sense, and the car doesn’t drive badly. To my mind the videos are certainly better than a lot of the others that show you the tuning screens, tell you the basic idea behind gearing/springs/tyre pressure etc and then tell you to copy what you’ve just seen and see what happens when you drive the car.
I suspect a lot of tunes are nothing anyway - I used to share mine and they were just upgrades. Now I’m beginning to understand how to tune cars for tracks - taking into account top speeds and what gear to be in through a corner and so on. Still got lots to learn, I’m hoping by the time FM7/FH4 come out I could have really competitive driving.
Stick with the RWD, learn your tracks and get tuning. :O)
