Road Racing vs Street Scene?

I’m trying to understand the difference between road racing and street scene and I really don’t get it.

I mean, I get the vibe that the “street scene” races are meant to be illegal street races or something, but in FH4, we use the exact same cars as we do during the clearly unsanctioned daytime races so…

I thought it was perhaps some nod to “city streets” vs “country roads” but, frankly, more road events are in the cities than street events are.

Is there any real, useful, distinction between these event types, other than Street Scene has annoying red flares that obscure the driving line?

You get traffic in the street races. Other than that, not really.

Traffic, no extra walls, no circuit races, and more variety in the types of cars you’re racing against.

Also you have to pay closer attention to the route because there is nothing to stop you taking a wrong turn, as there are no barriers.

Mainly the traffic which makes a big difference.

Offline, Street Scene is “run what you bring”, aside from the things people said.

There’s also the challenge of driving at night with traffic. Not sure if this was the devs’ intention but some of the routes seem to be trickier.

Street Scenes are also always Sprint races, and aren’t category-limited.
