Rivals times glitch

Lately I have been going back and playing Rivals, trying to max out my affinities with manufacturers I haven’t maxed yet. But in every track at which i have beaten a rival, no matter what the class is or if my time was set on either a dirty or clean lap, my next rival to beat is shown as… myself. And that is the only rival I can beat now. No matter if there is a player who has a lap time .500 of a second quicker than my time, if I beat that time, I get the “Congratulations!” message that I beat myself and not the other player.

What’s more, at the tracks I haven’t set a time at yet, the only rival listed is the player at the top of the overall leaderboard for that particular track. Example: as I type this, CAR Lightning is #1 overall at Homestead Road Alt in Class A Time Attack with a time of 1:17.321. Since I haven’t attempted this track in this class, my first rival to beat should be listed as whoever has the slowest dirty lap and NOT the overall leader.

This just happened to me this afternoon/tonight and while it’s not a game-breaker, since I already got the platinum badge for beating rivals (600 I think), it is kind of troubling. Anybody else have this problem?

I would really hate to have to delete and reinstall FM6 because I have a mega pantsload of vinyls I don’t want to lose, for importing into FH3.

Sounds like you’ve had a hiccup in the system, so before doing any frantic and perhaps a waste of time, just do a full, hard restart of your Xbox One console exactly as below:

Try doing a system reset (hard boot) as below:
1 – from the Dashboard, out of all games, hold the X button on the front of the console down until it shuts the system down.
2 – Disconnect the external power from the wall plug (or at least disconnect the wall-side connector on the power pack itself).
3 – WAIT until all power drains from the external power pack (no light, either white or dull orange showing on the pack), then remove the PSU-to-Console connection from the back of the Xbox One.
4 – After about three minutes, reconnect the plug to the console followed by the power supply to the electrical outlet.
5 – Restart the console in the usual manner, i.e., either with the controller or a short push on the X button on the front of the X1.
6 – WAIT until the console self-checks and fully boots to the Dashboard before attempting anything.

If you don’t disconnect the external power pack and let the power completely drain out, the system is still retaining “old” stuff and not resetting. If there are any updates (system or games) following the reset, let them complete 100% before attempting to play any game even if it says “Ready to start” in the downloading queue.

Unfortunately, after carefully following those steps described, it still didn’t help.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately the hard reset didn’t work for me either.

I do have another question, and again, if anybody who’s reading this can offer up an assist, it would be greatly appreciated. When I go to manage the game from the Dashboard, it has a listing of the installs related to the game, including DLC, naturally. But under Saved Data, there are two files: the saved game and an entry that says “Clear reserved space”. Is this what FM6 uses to remember the game state when I quit the game? Or is that info retained in the game save itself?

It’s not just you, I noticed the same thing this morning!

Bummer, then it probably is on the game server side since it isn’t Xbox Live because their Xbox Support has been reporting everything is fine.

DO NOT attempt to “fix” anything locally. We’ll just need to wait for Turn 10 to investigate.

The glitch I’m seeing is that in every race I get the usual rivals message, but it now says my next rival is STI Schumacher or someone like that. Basically, it gives me whoever’s at the top of the leaderboard for any track. While I’d like to believe I could hang with that kind of company, I’m further than a $50 cab ride from that club.

This post made me laugh. Keep at it bud. Before to long it should only be a $5 or $10 cab ride…

I am having the same issue, I thought it was me who had done something wrong by pushing the wrong button.

Seems to me they have changed something as mine happened while I was actually playing.

Finished one rival race and when I went into the next one it did exactly what you have described.

Sort it out Microsoft & turn 10!

+1 Was doing the same thing and am having the same issue. Sounds server-side.

The strangeness continues. Now I can’t get ANY rivals message to pop up at the beginning of a race, but at the completion of my first clean lap, it says, "Congratulations! You beat ". No gamertag displayed, not even my own. And it doesn’t matter if the lap was fast enough to pass the next supposed rival or not. This has gotten just plain weird…

I noticed the same thing too. There’s obviously a glitch with the FM6 servers right now, hopefully they’ll get it fixed soon.
