Rivals Challenge?

Haha you won’t be surprised to hear that I did try it once earlier and I was going to be quicker, but I stopped before the end. I was surprised there are none in the top 11 but I guess the DLC rivals doesn’t get much attention so it’s relatively easy to get into the top spots compared to the main game. The Bugatti tune I was using has 8.6 speed and 9.1 handling so it did feel considerably better as you’d expect.

edit - actually that was against my Camaro ghost anyway, not sure if it would be quicker against my current time. But probably.

Sounds good to me.

Mmm ZL1 time

Sorry for stealing topic.
I thought we were going to have multiplayer race tomorrow, but besides me and turtleCZ, no one signed up.
Do we cancel it?

Pretty sure that this event is Viper v Corvette. My times so far are:

Corvette 15 - 1.51.8 (Bree’s tune)
Viper 13 - 1.52.2 (Only Naps)
Corvette 09 - 1.52.6 (Only Naps)
Mustang DD - 1.52.9 (Platinum Mod)
ZR1 PO - 1.53.931 (Bree)
ZR1 - 1.54.081 (Only Naps)

Nothing else has broken 1.55. All the tunes I’ve tried have been AWD, so RWD might be quicker (Rayne’s 1.51.9 in the 09 Corvette is clearly RWD).

Had a go at the A and B class events as well (not much to do today!). The A class lead time is very quick. Can’t get within a second of it. Would be interested to see if anyone has anything they can beat it with - possibly Rayne’s Ferrari 166MM?

Edit - I hadn’t tried Bree’s incredible Shelby Daytona tune. Great fun to drive on this course. I’ve tied TotallyTokin’s lead time for A class. I see FN has gone 4th in the TZ2 as well - might try that tomorrow.

Rayne’s 166MM is most likely quicker if the track has any significant high speed sections (I haven’t tried the track myself yet). There’s also an AWD tune of the Ford Roadster that is a little bit quicker all round than my Daytona tune, can’t remember whose tune it was, but I’m not keen on using that type of car, it’s another one I’d personally exclude from online, along with the Monaco KC and Peel Trident.

I’ve taken a couple of tenths off your Daytona time. I did tweak my tune a little bit, so if you drive against my ghost and feel like you’re driving against a faster tune, let me know and I’ll share it, I think that would be v4 of my tune for that car!

I had quick go of B class as well. I will try the above A class Daytona tune tomorrow, sounds good.

I did few runs with ZL1 in Lego land, but atm I just have too much fun with Napier-Railton

Lego Rivals generally seems pleasantly free of the Punk and Roadster in A class. I avoided them as a result. Might try the 74 Civic I sometimes use though to see how a real power tune gets on.

I’m looking around the forums for the info, figured I’d ask you fellas, prolly know. What is the “share code”? Is it a way to gift something or the new way to share as a whole?

It’s a tune-specific code like the ones PG introduced for track blueprints a while ago. One tune, one code. Enter it and you’ll instantly find the tune.

As for that LEGO track:

Tried the Ferrari 166MM but couldn’t manage to come closer than 1.1 seconds towards your time, Jezza.
I lose a lot of time at the start and the first time I can really fire the cannon is on the straight up to the desert. On perfect runs I enter the city side by side with you but this city kills everything except AWD.
Too many bumps, too many obstacles, no grip. Especially the acceleration zone after the last left 90° turn destroys my laps - it also did this with my C6 ZR1. It’s simply impossible to accelerate from these low speeds through a bend and over bumps. The Ferrari can’t make up this disadvantage through the last straight.

Now I’m sitting 0.6 seconds behind you in my FWD '97 Civic. Different strengths than the Ferrari but the same acceleration zone in the city prevents me from better times. Nonetheless I’m surprised as usual how well this FWD build works. Without competition on A800 as FWD.

The Roadster could go 1st on Valley View Sprint as I got within a second of Jezza’s time with it, though I know it isn’t a car for the purists!

Oh, I’m way late to arrowhead, i see…well, got a belated volvo under 60 sec

I think it’s still ‘open’ till the end of today? I can’t remember tbh.

Thanks!

Yes, although it’s a fairly relaxed approach anyway. I wasn’t planning on formally announcing results.

Agree FN that the Roadster would have the edge on the Daytona. Think i could go a second or so quicker if I used that based on a couple of trial runs.

Also been trying the S2 event. The CCGT is phenomenally good for this course - the fast right and left near the start can be taken flat out in 6th gear. I’m not sure I can catch the leader though. Need to find nearly a second more.

Quiet here this week. Hope everyone is ok. I see you couldn’t continue to resist using the Bugatti FN!

I know, I am a bad man :joy:

And I still can’t beat you even when I use a better car!
