I’ve been jamming some Forza again now there’s a version for Windows, and I’ve enjoyed messing around with a few tunes. I’ve had pretty good success with them on the rivals leaderboards, and they’re a little bit different to the muscle car rockets and Imprezas that seem to be everywhere.
Most of these cars have hit some decent times somewhere in rivals. If I can remember results, I’ll list them, which should at least give you an idea of which the better cars are. I’ll also note drivetrain, not sure if anyone cares now, but I remember back in some older titles there were RWD/FWD purists who hated AWD swaps on everything. I’ve also been doing a few paints, when I get around to making a wee paint thread in the other forum I’ll pop some links here to make things easy to find.
S1 Class:
BAC Mono & Mono HE (AWD) - Top 5s
BMW M4 (RWD) - Top 50s
BMW M3 E92 (RWD) - Top 50s (quicker than the M4, but not as nice to drive)
KTM XBow (AWD) - Top 5s
Lancia 037 (RWD) - Top 10s (fast on the right tracks, but tricky to drive)
Lexus RCF (RWD) - Top 20s
Mazda RX7 FD (RWD) - ?
A Class:
BMW 1M (RWD) - ?
B Class:
Renault Clio Williams (FWD) - Top 10s
C Class:
Honda Civic EK9 1997 (FWD) - Top 5s
Ford Transit Supervan (AWD) - Top 10s (High HP rocketvan)
Note: I’ve sometimes tweaked the gearing on a per-track basis for the rivals leaderboards to squeeze a little extra out of the car. If you’re getting good results and want the gearing for that track, let me know and I’ll temporarily pop up a version for you.
