Rivals Challenge - FH5 Edition

Have you tried…

???

Also, since you are using automatic and these are old car with old gearboxes, I would focus on AWD swapped tunes to avoid “shift penalty”.
I assume that tune that Gilles used is AWD swapped.

Been tuning and testing the Jag & Cali since yesterday. Although it seems the fastest times here have been predominantly with the Jag, I actually prefer my Cali tune over my Jag tune, despite having my fastest time thus far in the Jag. If anyone wants to try them feel free.

SC for Cali: 496 496 194
SC for Jag: 810 045 568

Cali handles better and has a bit more Accel than my Jag. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to put together a good Merc tune yet.

Been running your Jag tune and Moss’ as well trying to make up time.
So far my best time in yours by a hair from @CashlessPlains8

Not sure if I have it in me to go faster

I’ve had the best time (luck) in the Merc but loved the Cali too. :woman_shrugging: I haven’t tried the Jag yet but may just stick with the Merc as I’m really liking it.

You’ve already put up an impressive time with the Merc. I raced your ghost and your pace is difficult to match. I’m assuming you’re using race suspension with your tunes? Have you tried rally? Whatever you’re doing is clearly working, so I’m not questioning your choices, just curious really.

Have you tried my Cali tune? I actually thought that was better than the Jag, but I still have a lot more racing to do.

I had set my previous clean time in the Cali, dunno what tune. Might get a look tonight else tomorrow before seasonals

Have you a Merc tune shared? Didn’t see one from you when I was trying it myself

On this tune I’m actually using the street suspension but I do use the race suspension a lot as I like to adjust my camber. I haven’t tried the rally suspension yet. Don’t read a lot into my setups (parts choices etc) as I’ve learned the majority of tuning on my own and they are likely very quirky in comparison to most but IDK. :woman_shrugging: The best help I’ve had is advice from fellow forum members, thanks everyone! :+1:

@robotiChart it’s shared now, I thought i had already but didn’t…Doh! :woman_facepalming:

Had some great trouble getting the Jag cleanly around the track yesterday playing on the Xbox One S. Could not get it done. Today after three failures went clean pretty easily on the Series X, immediately crashing my previous best by 8 secs plus. Don’t get where the difference comes from, normally it’s a way smaller gap. Both times using the. @HLR_Moss tune.

I quite like that Merc tune. The first right hander it holds a good bit of speed over the Jag.

Just need a clean lap but defo seemed faster than the Jag. Chasing jezza didn’t help!

I wonder if @Jezza14 did pre tests with these 3 cars because they seem pretty balanced
@TheGillesMuller got an AWD Jag into the 29s, I managed it with a RWD SL and a RWD Cali.
In the long run the Cali seems to be the slowest because it loses ~0.5 during launch that it basically holds til the end.
An AWD SL could be faster than my RWD one.

Edit: So far no “pro line” used through the jump chicane.

Frankly,i’m a little surprised the Cali is in the equation at all.Never seem to have had any joy with it before - except for listening to and looking at

pretty sure race and rally suspension are virtually the same thing. the only difference is the range of your springs, so if your race settings fit within rally suspension the game physics treat them the same. ignore the handling and off-road stats, those are static pi “guidelines” and based on stock settings.

the actual pi reduction in rally vs race comes entirely from the minor weight difference, which can be offset in interesting ways with the 1-2pi saved.
