A tough battle with “nailbiting” up to the line but got your F1 by 0.05 in the #20 MG6.
Didn’t expect that but it flies through the upper sections.
Down to 2:34.822 in a Griffith with Bard’s tune now, decent pace but tricky-ish to drive, very fine line between getting full power down and the car letting go.
Was inspired by Zip’s Rally Eventlab & decided to take a stab at one as well for anyone who would like to give it a try. 8.6 miles total.
“Mainland Rally” - A800 Rally Monsters
SC: 150 820 637
Its a fun car. With a more skilled driver my tune good prob lose a sec maybe 1.3sec more and a better tuner may be able to get more out of it than that
Set some initial times with the Jag XJR-15, which is very capable & I love the engine sound. Managed to beat that time & get down to 02:40 with the McLaren 650S Coupé, still using @Tredawn’s tune from the Narrows run.
Nice to hear @Bravo, but I’ve improved that tune for this track. I’ll retrieve the share code when I get back on Xbox.
In the meantime, if you have a chance, or anyone else for that matter, please feel free to try my '93 Jag XJ220S TWR tune. SC is 939 431 878. The only reason I didn’t include an updated SC for the 650S Coupe is because the '93 is better and much easier to drive, (at least I think so).
I’d be very interested in some feedback from others. Been working on it for a few days now, since I’m back in town now.
Managed to improve my time a bit but every time I improved I beat my ghost by literally the smallest margin possible. So untidy too, I’ve gone better on every corner at one time or another but can’t put it together.
2.35.7 for now but it can go a bit quicker.
Switched to Grandma’s RWD race tyres tune and went a bit quicker.
RWD power in the XJ220S will go a lot faster than Grandma’s balance build, as expected. There’s very few of them on the leaderboard though, although there’s plenty of XJR15s littered inside the top 200.
2:34.321 after a couple runs using Bard’s S1 Road tune. I’ve got a pre-existing Lotus Elise GT1 time so the Jag time won’t show. I’ll post a screenshot of whatever time I eventually settle on for this challenge.
To be honest, it wasn’t necessarily what I’d expect at Volcan. My suspicion is that Grandma’s build can do low 33s (I ran a dirty .8 first go and that wasn’t perfect) and that full powerbuilds might be a little slower here - hence the GT1 dominating the leaderboard. We may find that they are fairly similar pace overall.
Anyway, improved to an easy clean 33.8 for now in the 620R. AWD TopTierRamen race tyres tune.
I’ve received some positive feedback on this so far, so thanks to anyone who has given it a try. My best time so far has been a 05:24.692 in the Peugeot 207, after getting more accustomed to the route. I’m sure there are much faster times to be had if anyone wants to post them.
Are you referring to the 650S or Jag?
No, I don’t. Would circuit count as longer?
TBH, there is not that many “unused” or interesting roads (some of them are separated a lot) on map that I can use.
There was few longer tracks (even 50+km) in eventlabs when I was searching few days ago. Custom search: title “rally” or “rally stage”, event type “custom only”, length “any”, route type “point to point”. You can change words in “title” or even leave it blank. Probably you will find something. Sadly there are only 20(?) results shown, so you have to be really clever with searching
User mimibear21 have full rally with 8(?) rally stages. Tried 2, was pretty good.
That was quite fun route
Did 5:05, with more runs should be under 5min.
I would like to appreciate usage of terrain and CP placement I think there was only two places where I would add wall/something or add/move CP to prevent cutting.
Great time Zip! Thanks for giving it a try & for your feedback; much appreciated.
Definitely recommend this tune. Was previously using a Bard tune that was on there already and this one is nice and easy to use, knocked 1.5 secs off my time driving just as badly as I was before.
Can I ask what platform you’re playing on? I’m on XSX using a controller & I tried this tune as well, but for me, it was tough to control. It seemed liked minor stick inputs would send the car veering off course. I managed to get down to 02:39 last night, but still in the 650s with @Tredawn’s original tune.
Series S using a controller(which I’m starting to fear might be in it’s way).
Jag - I haven’t tried the 650S yet.
I’m on XSX as well, using a controller.
Dead zones at zero? Did you experience any of what I described? Just felt really loose to me, but likely my inputs are too aggressive.
