Returning to Forza

Howdy folks, I’ve got this game downloading as I type this.
I haven’t played a Forza game since Forza 4 on the 360.
I never thought I’d ever see a Forza title on PSN but here we are, it feels great to be back. I’ve heard this game is brilliant.

Any hints and tips for a returning player would be much appreciated.
Is Dragnet still a mod on these forums?!

Cons

  • When it came out it felt like an enormous DLC for Forza Horizon 4. So much is so very similar.
  • Expect many of the same bugs, that is, exactly the same - copy and paste from 4 or even earlier.
  • Expect the same attitude from PG-T10 - they might or might not bother fixing stuff. It is also very late in life however, with that stated, it’s new for PS so it’ll be interesting to see if/how that affects anything. “Solved” took on a whole new meaning for me.

Neutral

  • Many tasks are similar to 4, some are modified (for better or worse is variable).

Pros

  • Loads of stuff to do.
  • Loads of cars to get.
  • Visuals super, needless to say.
  • EventLab has enormous potential, more than ever before.

Overall

Excellent game. Still falls short of great due to the apparently-deliberate lack of polish.

Miscellaneous.

There are three unicorn cars that might well never appear for PS players. Two are not bad, one is terrible, overall no significant loss to the experience.

Welcome to FH5!
It’s not a new game, and pretty late in development; I think most of the resources are focused on FH6 now. They did a great job with FH5. The overwhelmingly favorable reviews over the past 4 years are impossible to refute. It’s not a perfect game but it’s a darn good one.
After 4 years, every opinion or bit of advice has already been stated over and over and over. They’ve done a lot more things right than they have wrong.
Best small bit of wisdom I heard recently - FH5 is not a game that takes you by the hand and leads you down a predetermined path. It’s a game where you create your own unique brand of fun, which opens gameplay up to whatever you can imagine and the game will support. Look at some of the best content creation by players - great stuff, and all there for you to enjoy.

Man we had some great nights back in the FM4 days. Its a shame the game went backwards after 4.
