With ford announcing they’re planning on racing at the 24hrs of Le mans How do you guys think the new Ford GT will fair against the competition?
I’m not even American but I’m not exactly happy that the GT doesn’t have a V8. Instead this V6 so Ford can race it. Just seems wrong.
But anyway if they are serious about it then it’ll certainly be competitive. Ganassi are no chumps.
Winning a race in modern times is a combination of good car (mostly by balance of performance or other rules), good team (read as: good preparation), and luck. The car is in a good team. I imagine Ford doesn’t want to be so the FIA will give them a reasonably competitive BOP. However, it is a very strong class that has several teams going for the win. That’s why you have to race.
