Replays on rivals leaderboards

Apologies if this has been answered before. I looked at the FAQ and searched the forums, but could not find the answer.

I’ve read that you can watch replays of the fastest laps and have seen people on Twitch selecting rivals to race against from the leader boards, but I can’t figure out how to do it. When I click A on the leaderboards, all I get is the player’s profile. X changes toggles between fastest, near me and friends. B goes back. I tried all other buttons and nothing.

Thanks!

When you go into rivals just go to whomever you would like to race against and click the A button. A pop up menu will show up and you can select watch replay or make as rival. click make rival and boom he is your rival. After that just go in and pick your car and enjoy.

Thanks.

For some reason, I don’t get the pop-up menu when I place the cursor over a player on the leaderboards and press A. It opens their Xbox Live profile instead.

Make sure you’re hitting the proper button.

When looking at the list of rivals to pick from, look in the lower right corner of the screen. It shows you which actions different buttons perform.

For example, if you hit Y while a rival is highlighted, it will take you straight to his gamercard.

If, on the other hand, you hit A (the green button), you’ll see a pop-up menu. The second option is “WATCH THIS REPLAY”. That’s the one you want.

Are you going into the leaderboard section by pushing Y on the track you would like. After that you should be able to puch X to get to your friends list or whatever list you are looking for. Once on the correct person look at the bottom right of the screen. It will tell you what buttons to push to do what you are looking for. Sorry i cant remember the exact way to do right now for some reason.

Thanks everybody. I finally figured it out!

This seems to be the only way to make it work:

You need to press Y while on the track selection. This brings the leaderboard and from there you can press A to trigger the pop-up menu with the Select Rival and Watch Replay options. It doesn’t work if you get to the leaderboards any other way. What I was doing was going to rivals, selecting a track, selecting a car and then going to the leaderboards.

Thanks also to ajd440ex38. This made me realize how you get to the leaderboards is important:

“If you are going into rivals mode after finishing a career race, by hitting the X button, I don’t think you can change the rival. It is set to the next rival from your friends list or the next rival ahead of you. If you hit the A button from the leaderboard it opens there profile instead of a menu. For some reason it is different after a career race than it is going directly to the Rivals area.”

Sounds like it should be straightforward, but for some reason is not working for me. And I’m pretty sure I’m pressing A and not Y. At least I know now
how it’s supposed to work. I’ll look into my settings to see if there’s something there.

Thanks for your help.

Hopefully somebody in front of their xbox can give you the exact way to do it. I wish i could remember but i cant.

If you are going into rivals mode after finishing a career race, by hitting the X button, I don’t think you can change the rival. Go directly to the Rivals area and you can select any rival you want from the leaderboard your viewing.

I have the same issue. A button just brings up the gamercard. It didn’t always do that though because I’ve got a menu before to set people as rivals but it hasn’t worked in a long time. When I did the bounty hunters I had to follow the people to get them to set as a rival and I drove myself nuts trying to figure out how I set a rival before. I literally tried every button, nothing brought up the menu any more.

In thinking I wonder if it has anything to do with re-mapping the clutch. Something to try.
