Rennsport cockpit or ??

Hello racers!
Hello I’m looking for a racing cockpit with a few specific characteristics:

  1. “Open” pedal box wide enough for a 3-pedal setup (NO steering shaft between my legs like Playseat!)
  2. “Road car height” seat (NOT an F1-style tub where you sit on the floor. I used to have a Bob Earl VRC and it didn’t get much use for this reason.)
  3. Some ability to fold/collapse for storage

My TV is on a height-adjustable mount and I think I can get it low enough, so I don’t need a monitor stand.

The Rennsport cockpit meets these criteria, but I understand that it’s optimized for the Fanatec wheel & shifter. Since Forza in their infinite wisdom has moved on, what’s a good alternative that would work with the Thrustmaster and possibly Logitech controllers?

I should also add… I’m NOT looking for a full-motion simulator with butt kicker, etc. Just a sturdy setup to clamp a FFB wheel, pedals, and H-pattern shifter that results in something more carlike than the “school bus” setup I get clamping them to my desk. I would probably get a Playseat, but I really don’t like the idea of the central steering bar.

I can’t believe Rennsport is the only supplier of this type of cockpit for USA. Who are the other big players in this field?? Thanks!

check out next level racing cockpits they are now in the US through pagnian imports thats what i use

Did you look into the SR-X by Sim-Seats?

It starts at less than half the price of a Rennsport Cockpit, and its made in Virginia. It’s not as pretty, but its sturdy and has some decent options, like which pedal set you intend to use, seat color and frame color.

Other than that, you can get an Obutto setup from Main Performance PC.

There are two options there, and then more accessories you can shake a stick at for either.
(And yes, those pedals will work with the TX.)

After that, you can go Ricmotech, but I don’t think you want a large wooden setup. Still there is some interesting stuff over there.

If none of the above is helpful, you can try google/bing searches with this term…
“Sim Racing Seats - USA”

This search did give me a link to this item from Playseats…

No center post and what appears to be a robust looking frame. The seat collapses, it’s not completely fold and stow but it’s better than any of the rigs I mentioned in my previous post. If you don’t mind having Raceroom embroidery on the seat (and why should you? It’s not a bad PC Sim) then it’s probably a better option than the previous post’s offerings. It’s not made in the US, but it is sold here.

Gamepod also popped up in the termed search…

There is a “US Customers” graphic on the lower left that takes you to the US shipping and pricing options. FedEx that is.
The GT2 is the style you seem to be looking for. This is as expensive as the Rennsport stand. I like the way it looks in comparison. To me it comes across as more of a no-nonsense racing rig. But that’s my opinion, others might like the Rennsport better seeing that they are in the same ballpark in terms of price.

Other than that, there are more options out there.

Building your own, used on Ebay, Amazon and other dealers/mfg’s. You’ve got to look though.

I hope this helps you find a racing rig that meets your needs.

Go to the other site where you asked the exact same question. The help I provided here doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of the options that are available to you.
