re: 'Long Beach Track' Content Update/DLC

I selected “Long Beach Challenge” (in Multiplayer Hoppers), dialog appeared ‘DLC Required’ & gave me two options, Buy the Car Pass & one other option which I don’t remember the name of. I decided both options were too expensive.
I ejected the Disc & Powered off Console (including removing power-cord).

After powering up Console, I loaded Game (Forza 5 of course).
Had a very good look in Track Menus for Long Beach Track, not there.

Went to Multiplayer, selected ‘Long Beach Challenge’.
Once again dialog appeared “DLC Required”, & gave me the same two Options to buy as previous.
I then clicked back through Menu’s so Game was at very Start, as when Game is first loaded.

So I went to LIVE Store & looked through the Forza 5 DLC’s.
The only DLC that related at all to ‘Long Beach’ was “Long Beach Booster Pack” for AU$6-65.
(That was much much cheaper than the Car Pass & the other option previously provided).
Yes I know it lists the the Cars Only, but as I don’t want the Car Pass (or all the Cars) at that price, if I have to pay then rather go for the cheaper.

So I buy the “Long Beach Booster Pack”, as soon as it downloaded I brought Forza 5 back to Full-screen & Pressed (A) to Start the Game received a message the Game required a Content Update (about 1.8GB).

Note: A Friend in the UK had the same “problems”, except he accepted the Option to buy the Car Pass, he said it cost him about Forty English Pounds.

If ‘Long Beach’ Track was free world-wide as Content Update, “Why did I get that Dialog come up in “Long Beach Challenge”?”.

Either ‘Long Beach’ was only free to those in USA & other people who had Car Pass or VIP etc or TURN10 mucked up on their Coding.
What also mislead me as to Status of ‘Long Beach’ being Free World-wide or only USA was Long Beach in Forza 5! & the Dialog that appeared when I selected ‘Long Beach Challenge’ wanting me to buy the Car Pass or other option.

Anyway, to those people who replied to my previous Post, Previous Post I WILL be getting a Refund!

When I contacted Microsoft, I gave them all this information, including the ‘Long Beach’ News link. Was put on hold for five minutes while they checked some facts.
Was told ‘Long Beach’ was only Free in USA. (I believe it is mainly because of the News written about ‘Long Beach’ that Microsoft decided to give me a Refund).

Comment: The person who wrote I wanted a Refund because I didn’t like the Cars in the DLC is dead-wrong! I haven’t looked at the Cars nor driven them nor do I even know or care what Cars were in the “Long Beach Booster Pack”, all I wanted was the ‘Long Beach’ Track.
(Unlike some of those who replied to my previous Post, I’m not going to say Microsoft is wrong & you’s are right & know more than Microsoft do).

Those who don’t live in USA & had a Car Pass or similar are lucky I guess, as this Content Update/DLC was a hassle, for me & my Friend in UK.

The Content Update that downloaded after I installed the “Long Beach Booster Pack” gave me the Long Beach Track, which was all I wanted in the first place.

There was an issue with the update which is free worldwide.

The update is meant to trigger simply by starting the game but it has had quite a few issues triggering.

I accidentally made the right decision the night I knew the update was going to hit. I changed my console to instant on and auto update games. It updated overnight.

For future tracks know that all that should be needed is the auto patch.

There were issues with this update not auto triggering for everyone. So it was a hassle for many people but the track was free for everyone and is part of the auto patch.

Since the person you spoke with at Microsoft support gave you a refund (even though he/she was mistaken about the track being free only in USA), and since you already posted all of this information in your other thread, I’m not sure why you feel it necessary to create a new thread to say the same thing.

Please do not re-post this in another new thread.

If you wish to express anything further on the subject to Turn 10, the appropriate route to contact them is via email at forzafb@microsoft.com - note that you will receive an auto-reply, and you may or may not receive an individual reply, but all email sent to that address (after spam and junk is filtered out) is reviewed by Turn 10 staff.
