Ranked team adventure racing ramming

Ok so, Forza horizon 4 is a great and wonderful game. Bur there is something extremly infuriating about the online ranked team adventure (racing). [Mod Edit - Profanity & user removed - D] I thought that a ranked adventure would be a fair competetive gamemode for those who will challenge themselves. Please turen on auto-ghosting on the gamemode so there is no rammers. I try to get to grandmaster but i cant because theres rammers every time. Please change this for a better competetive experience.

It’s like that in regular team adventure too. If PG got rid of regular pvp races to cut down on ramming, it backfired spectacularly.

I get rammed just as much from my own team as I do the opponents.

That’s the worst one. The “teammate” that is more concerned about their actual position than the fact that taking you both out costs the overall team win.

I’ve had some great clean racing with fair defence and strategy, but they’ve nearly always come from people I play driving game regularly with because they actually understand what racing etiquette is.

I got rammed by a teammate in just a normal co-op event. I had the audacity to pass them cleanly when they took a turn poorly to take first (they would have still easily been in second), so they responded by ramming me, swerving me sideways to t-bone me, and then proceeding to shove me into the awkward corner leading into the finish line. Being in a RWD car, I had no real way to prevent it once they took out my back tires. They were in an AWD, and the ram could not have been more deliberate. In a Co-op game.

I lost several spots and we nearly lost the race solely because of that.

I wish this were an isolated incident, but stuff like this happens all the time in this game. This community is toxic to the extreme, and none-to-bright to boot.

I agree with all that’s been said, what I found interesting is they made ‘horizon life’ which I’m guessing is the new ‘Online Freeroam’ from Horizon 3 - effectively ghost mode to stop toxicity and people ramming you.

I’d much rather be rammed in a freeroam chill out session than in a ranked ‘team adventure’, at the very least they should make it so your own team is ghosted, but visually still make the cars solid.

Throughout the Forza series it’s always very small and extremely simple changes that can make or break the experience.

Has someone ever messaged them once demanding an answer why on earth they would attack their own team and thus ruining overall victory?

Rammers and dirty drivers always give the same answer. Apparently none of them understand english.

Assuming randoms on the internet are capable of logic and reason is the path to your own madness.

I just assume it’s the confirmation bias of the belief they are the best racer in the world, and the extreme reactions that invokes when that image is threatened. That and the fear of personal inadequacies. Kind of the same thing actually.

They’re never going to answer you back with an honest answer though. It’s either going to be silence or something super aggressive to try and trigger you. Best to just ignore them.

I don’t usually do that, but recently I did.

My message:

His message:

Situation: Long right turn with barriers on the outside. I took the outer line, he was coming in way too fast from inside, our cars side by side and then without any reason he slammed into my right side. I flew off the road to other side of the barriers (it happened just before the barrier line started) so it was extra time consuming to get back on the road. He didn’t ram my car from back nor did he t-bone me while I was making the right turn - it had nothing to do with early braking (he probably didn’t knew which driver I was and which exact situation I was talking about, because obviously it wasn’t his only incident) and even, if I would have been early braking, he would have to adjust his driving according to mine or pass me cleanly.

Conclusion is that this situation is hopeless, when it comes to dirty racing (same with Motorsport games). I just want the FH3 system back, where your championship position is heavily dependent of XP. It’s not the perfect system, but at least it tries to restrain the mad behaviour and awards clean and smart driving. PS! If a last place drifter got more XP, then that means you didn’t drive clean enough (keeping up a skill chain while driving clean and fast isn’t that hard - keep your distance from the lunatics and avoid contact with others). So that argument, that some use to discredit the old FH3 system, is just factually wrong.

They don’t care is the answer.

It’s everyone for themselves and reach the highest rank no matter what it takes.

Just finished a ranked adventure. I came in first all three races, keeping it as clean as I could. The rest of my team lost in dramatic fashion. I ended up losing rank score even though I managed to race clean and won all three races. Because of my teammates that I have no control over, my team lost. How is my ramk supposed to reflect my driving if it seems 100% dependent on people I’ve never met with no way to help them place better?
I couldn’t find a thread on this specifically, so my apologies if this post is a bit off-topic.

Understanding your point, but game was designed for them because there more of them than of us and fact that FH3 became a somehow mostly clean rejecting all the gamers unable to make some bit of XP , is certainly a failure from their point of view since reducing the possible clients number.

I know it’s futile to understand why those people ruin their own game by attacking everyone (A certain NFS-game had that problem too where the cops fought each other as well), but my curiosity keeps pushing me for an answer.

@andrOOrdna
To me it sounds like he took being rammed off earlier as an excuse to be a prick to everyone too, though he at least tries to write it off as “rubbing is racing”.

Argh, it’s maddening…
