Rammers and Penalties

Now that you were able to make the lobbies nearly full for every race (which is well appreciated btw) i see at what costs.
The safety ranking doesn’t work at all, i guess it’s because we wouldn’t have enough players in S and A lobbies.

The problem is, the lobbies are flooded with rammers and immature behaviour.
It’s absolutely unbearable to say the least.
Not only that your race gets ruined, on top of that,
you also get all the false penalties in the world which is ruining your (in my case S rating) all the time.
Rammer hits you, you spin around and hit somebody or go off track, tadaa, you get penalty!
Rammer is brake checking you, you hit the rear and tadaa, you get penalty,
often 2 seconds or above!
You get pit maneuvered, guess what? Penalty!!
This ABSOLUTELY ruins the fun of multiplayer.
Please fix this immediately (tbh the penalty system is broken since over a year) but man, i have a feeling it’s worse than ever.

I’m rated at S 4998

FRR seems to be in its worst state since release as far as giving the pen to the wrong person. I was already borderline A/B safety and after a undeserved 4.5s penalty it moved me to C. The very next race I got 7.25s undeserved, 2.25s and a 4s were both in T1 AFTER I slowed down to almost a stop to avoid hitting people. That put me in D safety. And now I just can’t for the life of me get out, because EVERY. SINGLE. RACE. I am getting penalties for other people driving ridiculous. Yay this is so fun.

Yes, slowing down doesn’t help and beware of the ghosted cars, they have a talent to get unghosted half a meter in front of you so you can’t avoid and will get another 2+ seconds penalty!
I closed the game today because of all the false penalties in wreckfest on Fujimi (which seems to attract kids and rammers the most)
This shouldn’t be the case!

I completely agree — the penalty system needs a serious overhaul.

I’d love to see Forza adopt real-life motorsport penalties like Drive-Through (DT) and Stop-and-Go. These are meaningful consequences that actually make a difference in race outcomes, especially when dealing with intentional rammers or reckless driving.

Also, it’s time to move on from the current system of decimal penalties — getting 0.1s or 0.2s feels pointless. Instead, we should see more realistic penalties like 2s, 5s, or even 10s, depending on the severity of the incident.

Another huge improvement would be serving penalties during pit stops, just like in real racing. It would add strategy, realism, and accountability to the races.

Too often, a driver ends up with 4 seconds of penalties and just sits in front, backing up the pack and ruining everyone’s race.
If those penalties had to be served during the pit stop, the pack could go by — and it’d be on that driver to fight back and recover the time. That’s how it should be.

This would make online racing much fairer and more immersive for everyone who takes it seriously.

I made a suggestion a while ago. Shouldn’t be hard to implement ESPECIALLY since they have proximity radar.
If a car turns into you, without hitting it’s brakes, it should automatically ghost through other cars. So if they try pitt you, they go off track or say hi to a wall. They should get a penalty that shows up as text “attempted ram XX time penalty”

I was racing last night and the rammers weren’t even trying to hide it. Recorded the replay and have a few idiots to report.

100% agree. People that play the game to win by any means/grief other players do not care about penalties because they can still bull charge their way through the field and win the race. They do not care if they lose due to a technical penalty.

It’s almost concerning that the devs have allowed this to go on for as long as they have. Slow downs, forced pit, something, anything! Nah, just let them ruin everyone’s race instead.

The forums are flooded with FRR complaints, same with YT comments, reddit threads.. it has got to be the number one complaint across the board yet it continues to get worse. What gives?

I think you get more incidents and just awful racing in normal ten mins races everyone wants to get the front.
I mainly stay to medium to long length races the races seems better and tbh for me the frr don’t just get incidents wrong they get time gained wrong too.
Most races I have at spa everyone cuts el rouge and takes the penalty lap after lap.
I think you should get a warning once then a small penalty then a larger penalty then if you persist a drive through penalty.

I know the devs will never reply to this but I’d really like to know how he was able to finish the race without a DQ. AND there was still another 3.5 laps left of this nonsense, I just got tired of clipping the replay. A forced slow down or pit would have stopped this on the first lap and he probably would have just quit or been far enough back to be a non issue.

*He didn’t get a DQ because more than half of his penalties went to the wrong person.

Yea the time gained is also a huge problem. They use their AI to determine the pace you should be able to drive. If you’re faster (most people are..) even if you lose time you’re almost always still faster than the AI, therefore penalty. It’s terrible, everything about the way penalties work in FM.

I always thought it worked if you gained on a diver in front or behind system.

T10 doesn’t care about rammers, or about fixing the FRR. Or about real matchmaking where like skilled players are matched together. They just want full lobbies and thats all. What ever the skill. What ever the attitude. Rammers or racers doesn’t matter. Full lobbies is all that matters.

Wow, that video was BAD!!! It’s amazing that so many people drive like that. I don’t understand, what it the point? I would feel awful if I took out 2 people, much less several. Once you get pitted it is about 10-12 seconds to get sorted and back on track. It is a slap in the face that the offender always gets such a minimal penalty.

I hope you’ve reported him?

edit: i just did it with your video

Wow that’s bad that video and fact he didn’t get disqualified is what’s wrong with frr.
More and more drivers being over aggressive now because they can abuse the penalty system.

So far he got 3 more reports aside from you and me, i really hope this will be enough to send him on a break.

That guy should have been DQ’d by the game after like the 3rd clear pit maneuver he pulls. He’s clearly doing it on purpose.
