Race the Stig's Digital Cousin - Rival Mode starting April 1st

Bathurst… :frowning: This will not end good for me at all, that track is terrible for me. I can’t run a clean lap on it to save my rear bumper!

And then again, what you’re seeing may not be the correct cousin. This one is mysterious.

For this challenge everyone who participates and sets a time will receive an in-game credit reward, so even if you’re not the quickest it’s still worth your while to get involved

Thanks for that, for all other community events have only been for the top 1% of drivers

Some say he is so tough he has bowels of nails for breakfast, with out any milk!

Bowels of nails?! That is tough!

Some say … he has a contract out on Reubens Barrichello, and that his singing voice sounds exactly like this year’s Formula One engine sound.

Some say…the stig ran around bathurt backwards without hitting any walls.

I have been practicing and this will be tough. I missed out by a couple seconds on both the bounties so I want this. Fastest clean lap is 2.22.885. I am just in the S class rivals.

Really looking forward to this one starting and I ‘will’ beat the stig’s time! (example of positive thinking).

I can’t wait to have a go at this challenge. Never raced a digital cousin before on rivals just the slow one in career. I can’t read the link will this last a week like CBH? Also I don’t have the dlc yet so will the challenge be in the monthly slot?

I wonder who the stigs digital cousin is and will he remove his helmet and make himself known. ha ha

Hopefully this cousin will just slink off with the helmet still on.

What the hell have T10 done with the base tune on the VF Holden?!? It’s terrible compared to the VE, it has no turn in, it understeers big time and the gearing is FUBAR, you don’t even hit 6th gear on conrod straight at Bathurst. Needs re-tuning ASAP Turn10!!!

I can’t wait for this, I look forward to the community challenges, they all push me and in the end make us all better digital drivers. We’re all used to the usual “beat the time and win the prize” set up by now. On this one it doesn’t seem that the “digital Stig” needs to be involved.
If i read it correctly,
First place =grand prize pack
next 10 = first place prize pack
participation= credit bonus

I’m curious to how the Stig’s time plays into the contest?
Personal Joy and bragging rights?

It would be really cool if Turn10 was able to get Top Gear’s current Stig to actually go to Bathurst, in the Holden, and put down his best track time. I would love to race against his real time, not Turn10’s digital recreation of his racing style.

I hope they use cars from the original game and not dlc cars, otherwise it’s just to get us to buy dlc packs I’m afraid.

Hi

I have given this a go, so I thought Id post my experience to help others.

Bit of background, Im new to Forza, but have posted a few top 1% times, but to be honest if you are an experienced driver you can stop reading now

The last bounty hunter was my first go at this sort of challenge, and thanks to very nice you tube people (Rot King, Moneyman, Stellla Stig) I managed to improve over the week. These types of videos allowed me to get the guts up to turn ABS off, Traction control off and start to move over to manual (D class only at the moment). Another massive tip I picked up was to get rid off the dead zones in the stick and accelerator/decelerator buttons.

So I went out this afternoon and brought myself the Holden…

First lap (no ABS, no Traction control) - The result wasnt good!!,
So I put the traction control back on and ran about another 20 laps to better learn when to feather the throttle. However I was still having issues with touching the wall in the top half of the track at the top of the hill.
So I jumped in at the deep end and turned off all the assists, but to be fair everything moves too quickly for me at my age and I was having issues getting the right gear at the right time.
Next try was without ABS, Traction Control and Stability Control, but with auto gears, what an improvement!! The car now seemed to slot so much better through all the windy bits and I knocked 5 seconds off my time.

So if anyone is a bit of a beginner like me, I recommend you learn this challenge with full assists, and then when you have the figured out not to slam on the brake and feather the throttle to turn off ABS, TCS & STM.

Hopefully this will help one person go a little quicker…

PS: No times posted as I have already pointed out Im a noob

Thanks

Andy

Nice!

Some say his skin is the same texture of a dolphin’s, and that wherever you are in the world, if you turn your radio to 88.4 you can actually hear his thoughts. All we know is, its going to be fun chasing Sir Stig down the mountain

I want proof that it isn’t a April fools joke.

My first test run in the Holden VF Commodore went…OK. I thought it was a pretty decent car. Only thing I noticed was that it will try to get away from you if accelerate too quickly after the turn. I know some other people have mentioned understeer – I really didn’t notice that so much in my practice.

I kept it as stock, as I’m assuming the Stig challenge will have it as stock.

Bottom line: Should be fun, even with the frustration Bathurst sometimes causes (well me, at least). The car is definitely driveable. Didn’t have me sputtering Gordon Ramsay tirades like the McLaren in the last CBH did.
