[Race][Replica][Fantasy][Original] I 1NSANE I's 1st Place Designs - Replicas, TV/Movie Cars, Other

Hello all! I am back, though I never really left. I previously shared my creations from Forza Motorsport 5 and Forza Horizon 2 in the respective forums on this site. For some reason, possibly due to life’s demands, or possibly due to not wanting to deal with the formality of having to take, save, and share photos (instead wishing to focus on just playing the game), I never shared my creations from Motorsport 6/7, or Horzion 3.

I’ve still been painting from time to time as the mood strikes me. Eventually, I WILL take photos of all my creations across the Forza entries, and share them to both my imgur account, and Facebook page.

Many of my creations have been made in the different Forza entries, with all designs imported, inspected, and re-shared.

In this original post, I will be UPDATING as I add more designs to my “catalog”, or as I unlock/purchase more cars that I have made a design for. As a general rule, I don’t import and re-share designs until I have unlocked or acquired the specific car the design was made on. I do this mainly to inspect the car/design for any mapping, aliasing, or texturing issues that may have occurred from game to game to ensure my designs are as pixel perfect as possible before re-sharing them.

If you’d like to access my paints, the easiest way should be to search under “creator” for my gamertag, I 1NSANE I (capital i’s and spaces border 1NSANE).

About my designs:
I’ve specialized mostly on replicating TV/Movie cars. I endeavor with replicating real world race liveries from different forms of motorsport, and occasionally attempt an original fantasy design. I also replicate and share miscellaneous sponsorship vinyl groups, or “novelty” items such as license plate holders, etc.

I hope you enjoy my paints/liveries!

Replica/Fantasy race liveries:

Martin Schanche “Mister Rallycross” Ford RS200:

2017 K&N Filters #40 Mercedes-AMG GTR fictional race livery:

TV/Movie cars:

Herbie from The Love Bug:

Herbie re-imagined in Baja form. It’s Herbie the Baja Bug:

Peter Thorndyke’s “Special” from The Love Bug painted on the 1961 Jaguar E-Type. The original movie car was a 1963 Apollo 3500 GT. Since it is a mere re-creation of the paint job on a different car, I took some creative liberties where necessary. There are two versions of this livery available: The first one is of the “Showroom Version” WITHOUT the numbers on the car, and the “El Dorado” version WITH the numbers on the car.

Peter Thorndyke’s “Special” re-imagined on the 2012 Eagle Speedster:

The General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. Two versions are available. “Georgia Lee” features a set of crossed miniature Confederate and checkered flags behind the rear windscreen and trunk lid area that appeared on the season 1 cars. The other is a NF (No Flags) version that omits the crossed miniature Confederate and checkered flags (No Flags version not pictured):

Other creations:

From the Nintendo 64 racing game World Driver Championship, it’s the Excalibur LTD. EXR Mystic. In the original game, this car came with three different color options, which have been recreated and numbered according to the order of selection in the N64 game’s menu.

The ORIGINAL post has been UPDATED under the TV/Movie cars listing to include the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon General Lee livery!

Some pretty good stuff in here and you can obviously make logos. That being said some of your designs, the Baja Bug and the Mercedes in particular just seem so covered in logos. Your good at making logos and I know the feeling of wanting to showcase your proud logos but sometimes less is more as it can crowd the livery. Good job in here though and I am looking forward to more.

Hey there PTG Ace Ventura! I always enjoy hearing from you when I make one of these posts. Thanks for your kind words!

While I certainly don’t intend for my liveries to be rolling billboards to showcase my logos, I usually end up using them when I feel a race inspired livery has a bit of empty space needing to be filled. I am definitely a less is more, clean livery sort as you can tell with my replica movie cars paints, etc. I’ve got a race inspired livery that I will be working on, updating, and showcasing within this post soon, and I plan on using a less is more approach for the sponsors.

I greatly appreciate your feeback! I’ll take what you said into account for future race liveries in which I use sponsor vinyls.

Glad to hear you appreciate the feedback and as I noted your logos are of high quality. Can’t wait to see your next livery! As for dead space; it’s all about the sort of car you have. NASCAR stock cars for instance have many sponsors that are affiliated with the series that crowd the front quarters. GT3 cars however have fewer sponsors. Things like Baja bugs aren’t so heavily financed and in turn don’t tend to have the stickers to show it.

If you browse racingsportscars.com it can give you a good idea of a visual for which cars are more likely to be more or less logo-heavy. It’s also just a great resource for source photos.

Another thing I didn’t notice before that you also ought to be careful of is competing sponsorships. For instance Pennzoil and Sunoco both make engine oil/cleaning/lubrication products and would provide a team all of that. One rule to follow is that two companies that compete in the marketplace can not compete on a racecar unless one is also a series sponsor.

IE: A Blancpain Timepiece logo would not be on a Rolex sponsored car unless it was a GT3 car in the Blancpain Endurance Championship. A bit long winded but hope this helps! Looking forward to more!

I concur with Ace’s comment’s just a little more space with logos would help!

Generally on race designs you have to think of the car as an advertisement for sponsors. Sponsors pay for space in effect!
Usually 1-2 Main sponsors have the largest spots on the car, then smaller supplementary after that, working around the series specific logos as well.

Lots to consider for sure to make a realistic race design!

Thanks again PTG Ace Ventura and ABGRAPHICS! I truly appreciate your suggestions and feedback.

PTG Ace Ventura, thank you for the link you provided. It should prove invaluable to me for “researching” race liveries, sponsors, placement, and numerical amounts. Also, I didn’t mind your “long winded” post. I’d rather have too much information than not enough, especially when it is constructive criticism!

Speaking of sponsors and placement, here is my latest import/update for Forza Horizon 4:

Update 10-18-18: Available NOW!

A General Lee inspired Nascar livery of what The Duke Boy’s Nascar entry might have looked like. Created in Forza Horizon 3, imported to Forza Motorsport 7, and imported to Forza Horizon 4, featuring updated and newly created sponsor decals.

Available NOW!

While we have been on the subject of sponsor decals, I figured I’d provide an overview of sponsor decals, and other vinyl groups that I have created which are currently available. Again, you can obtain these by either searching “creator” via my gamertag I 1NSANE I, or under “Description” using appropriate tags:

FYI, the Hemi vinyl groups for the 1971 Plymouth Cuda are individual for the right and left sides of the car. You’d be surprised (or not) as to how many downloads one gets over the other. My guess is people think by downloading one and flipping it, that it’d be all they need, and are instead in for an unfortunate result.

Really dig the HerBaja !

Nice job on this last post. I dig the sponsor logos, they are well done, keep 'em coming. The Dixie Daytona Charger is nice with all the logos and I like the way you have the stars and bars extend up the side of the wing.
