[Question] Why is there more people playing Horizon in the 360 rather than the One?

I saw a lot Forza Horizon 2 videos in YouTube, but a lot of them uses the 360 version which is low quality rather than the the One version. I mean, why people wants the inferior version of the game anyway?

a) People didn’t read the threads before buying
b) YT-vids are scaled back anyway; some One-videos look like they came from the 360.

There are a lot more 360s out there than Ones.

A lot more of them in landfills too.

Rather more obviously, money is also a limiting factor - just because you can afford the new console and more expensive games, doesn’t mean everyone can. It may not be that they want the “inferior” version…

Maybe if these people drop you a pm you could send them the funds for a xbox one? Then you wouldn’t have to suffer the poor 360 videos on YouTube.

Might cost you a bit though but ah what’s money.

The xbox one on release and to present is a expensive item to buy as well as the games I consider myself lucky to have been able to buy a xbox one on its release am sure there is many whom would loved to have owed a xbox one but are unable to at the moment due to funds. The xbox 360 is still a good console I still own mine and would not get rid of it.

Not really. The Kinect-version on release-day was only $100 more expensive than the 360 on release-day. Plus you usually got a free game with the One which would normally retail for the usual $60.

Just looked up my 3rd order of my 360 Slim 250GB; that was 380 Euro’s without Kinect. The One (including Kinect, Day One controller, batteries and FIFA) came in at 499 Euros. The One was announced in May and released in November; people had roughly 6 months to save the extra 100 Euro/Dollar compared to the 360 pricing.

Besides, but that’s just me; people spend a lot of money on XBL, a good TV/monitor, receiver/headset and such. Don’t really understand all that and then complain the console itself is too expensive.

I might be an exception but spending 400 dollars or 500 dollars on a brand new console is peanuts compared to the rest of the “investment” during the lifetime of the console and all the surrounding factors to actually use the console.

Your only talking new, you do realise that a lot of people have brought the 360 second hand for a fraction of that price and do not mount it to expensive TVs.

There are a lot of people out there that cannot afford 400 for a TV let alone a game’s console.

We’re probably going a bit off-topic to the OP but if 400 is expensive/unreachable for a lot of people, shouldn’t some people (emphasis: some) get the priorities straight and not buy product X for 400 dollars and instead focus on more important expenses in life?

I mean, if you can, I want everyone to enjoy gaming on their PC, console(s) and whatnot but sometimes the difference between spending X amount on other things than “immediate living” is not obvious to people and their priorities are completely wrong once they have a few hundred saved up.

So people that work hard but struggle a bit shouldn’t spend 50 bucks on a second hand console for a bit of fun time?

Who here said people have there priorities wrong? Who here said people are spending money on 4/5 hundred pound/Dollar consoles of which they can’t afford and therefore should be focusing on more important areas of the financial life.

The op asked why more 360 videos were online rather the xbox one, the answer is simple the 360 has been out 10 years plus the xbox one not even a year so therefore many more units in people’s homes.

Plus the 360 can be purchased for around 50 bucks / pounds second hand certainly not so for the xbox one.

Nowhere in this thread that I can see has anyone said people have there priorities wrong, infact just the opposite was pointed out. Not all can afford a 4/5 hundred pound / Dollar games consoles so therefore stick with there 360 unit which there may or maynot or purchased second hand for a few Dollars.

I would say there is way more 360s out there at least 3 to 1 right now.

Hehe … it’s a whole lot more than 3 to 1. Since release, about 85 million 360s have been sold compared to only about 5 million XB1s. Even taking into consideration all the 360s that were bought but no longer being used … there are many, many more 360s out in the world than XB1s.

I have both consoles (and a PS3), obviously I went for the next gen version of the game that’s how it is with me, I stopped buying last gen games,
… tho i did buy grid autosport recently on the 360, just because it wasnt out on next gen

People don’t have the savings to buy the Xbox One.

Agree

FH2 came out almost a year after the One was released and almost 1.5 years after the One was officially announced and well over 2 years after the rumors of developing the One began. Save $4.50/week since the rumors started and you can buy a non-Kinect One + FH2. If there is no way ever you can save that kind of money (for a newly bought console) in that timeframe, you got your priorities wrong.

Savings = financial management but not a lot do the math.

Ofcourse there are second hand buyers. Good on them for getting something cheaper. But I see no difference between shelling out 150 bucks on a secondhand console or 400 on a brandnew console if people start telling me in the first place money is scarce compared to the purchase.

" Inferior " is in the eyes of the beholder. I actually like 360 exclusive cars more than the one exclusive cars. Glass half full…

Maybe people are saving 4.50 a week for a new kitchen make over or to decorate a little ones bedroom or to take the family on a break away rather then spend what little disposal income they might have on a game console when there older 360 is still working fine.

I’d say those people that can’t simply go out and buy have they priorities right.

This is it, a higher install base explains these numbers. This is also likely the reason why many games are still multi-platform, given many previous generation consoles are still in use an exclusive on a next-gen console would cut into your profits big time as the numbers of those consoles out there are a fraction of last gen ones.

I think this is something a lot of people can’t comprehend, especially those in their teens or early-20s. Even if you are fairly well off with a university degree style job, as an adult there are a lot of expenses you have to pay for, a $500 console may not seem like a lot of money but when you combine it with stuff like bills, family needs and wants, etc., it all adds up (weddings are really expensive and I know some members can testify to it).

And then there are the kids and teens who may only be working on allowance or minimum wage jobs, I think there are many reasons why someone may not be able to run out to buy a new console even though it “seems” so cheap, everything is relative.
