How is Freeplay going to be done/expanded upon in FM7? One of my main wishes is for you to have the ability to choose manufacturer colors, of cars that allow it, in Freeplay. Will this be a thing in FM7 or is it simply too hard to implement? You already have the rental system that allows you to drive any car in the game from the get go. Good. Now can we please be allowed to change color on the cars that have different colors available? I’m not asking for custom liveries or colors, just the manufacturer colors.
Hope to hear from the devs or someone close to the devs.
We also need to be able to individually choose the cars that the drivatars all use in Free Play, like it was in FM4. Free Play needs to be free! We should be able to design a race exactly how we want. The divisions in FM6’s Free Play were a poor substitute for this. The ability to choose the vehicles you go up against has to come back from the Forzas of old otherwise Free Play remains a mediocrity, which is a big shame and an even bigger missed opportunity.
I hope Turn 10 actually listens to the concerns about Free Play eventually.
Oh yes, THIS! And they have got to bring back upgraded Drivatar cars. If I’m driving an S or even R-tuned supercar, the AI should not be R class race cars, but rather the same car built as the player. There is an option in FM6 that allows you to choose a specific type/era for AI cars but those are bone stock; if you have an upgraded car in the same car era, the AI will choke on your dust.
So better balancing is something I look forward to - the current system is somewhat broken in that the same AI car keeps popping up, let’s say if you’re doing one-on-one races. For instance, the LaFerrari or P1 are in the same class, so EVERY time I choose a LaF, the AI shows up in a P1 and vice versa. Yesterday, I was racing with the AI in a maxed out S class sports car and the same Volvo R class race car kept popping up. Annoying!
I hear you and understand how important that would be. Ironically, the way I play is exactly the opposite compare to yours. I just play with stock cars. I don’t really like upgrading and I have fun doing my own comparison tests In order to please both of us, FM7 should have an option “allow upgrades for opponents”. The last time we had that was in FM4… Besides, I like the way you can chose the opponents cars in FH3. To bad you cannot block upgrades for the opponents. I find it stupid you are driving a hypercar and someone in a 60’s Beetle overtakes you like you were doing 30… That’s one of the main reasons I didn’t enjoy FH3 as much as I enjoyed the previous Horizons.
THIS THIS THIS! No racing game has yet to do this recently with all these big titles, not even project cars 2 will offer this although they will have multiclass racing which you can choose the classes to race against. But this feature has been begged for in forza for the longest mainly for its giant roster of cars and so many car competitions amongst different classes. It just seems like an easy feature to throw in. At the very least I’d hope they redid all the divisions and allow us to have multiclass racing giving us the freedom to choose the classes while opening up some more divisions that was left of forza 6, ex: pre war gp cars, formula trucks, divide group 5 and early gt cars etc… this will be a huge let down if nothing is touched in freeplay mode.
I’m still surprised and impressed that Turn 10 actually patched in additional Free Play options after launch in Forza 6 to give more control over races. It would be great if they expanded on that further with fresh code.
I would like it if it would save your settings so you don’t have to keep changing them every race. even if its just something as simple as setting the race time to 10 minutes and no matter what track comes up you race for 10 minutes.
I don’t play online at all, so the career and free play are really what sell the game for me. Free play will need to have some major improvements for me to pick up FM7. A demo for PC and X1/X1S/X1X would not hurt.
I do the same. All my racing is in free play mode. I’m hoping for the ability to specify exactly which cars the AI opponents will use when setting up the starting grid.
Nevermind, I found the answer to my own question. For FM6, the demo was released on Sept. 1, 2015 with the game following on September 15. If this holds true, the demo will not drop till somewhere around September 19.
