[PTG] FM5 Gymkhana Competition

Welcome to the Pendulum Tuning Gymkhana Competition!

The guys at the Pendulum Tuning Garage are holding their first open Gymkhana competition.

Gymkhana Definition:
Gymkhana events are time and/or speed events in an automobile. These can feature obstacles such as cones, tires, and barrels. The driver must maneuver through a “track” performing many different driving techniques. What separates gymkhana from traditional autocross events is that the gymkhana requires drivers to perform reversals, 180 degree spins, 360 degree spins, parking boxes, figure 8s, and other advanced skills. Drifting is also encouraged where helpful or necessary. Essentially, a gymkhana is any event featuring a starting point, a finish line and some sort of “obstacle” to get through, around, or by, all within a certain time limit.

Here is an example of Professional Driver Ken Block performing Gymkhana.

-Competition Rules-

Each driver will have 90 seconds on the clock to perform their best driving stunts.

Combinations and skill chains are recommended to score high in the competition.

Drivers must start at the designated start position shown below.

You may face either way, but must be at a complete stop before beginning.

Drivers must end at the designated end position.

Competition time will end as soon as the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The stopping zone is inside the L-Shaped concrete barried inside the building near the jumbo jet. The same with the starting zone, you may be facing either way inside the barrier.

The entry videos must start with a fresh, undamaged car for judging purposes.

The competition will take place on Forza Motorsport 5.
-On FM5 the run must take place on Airfield Full

Either a youtube clip or xbox one DVR clip must be attached to enter. The easiest way to do this is with your Xbox One’s DVR and the Upload Studio App. Capture a 2min clip to cover the start and complete finish of your run.

Never recorded a game clip or uploaded a video to your onedrive? Support links below.

The clip must be recorded from the far view. The reason for this is so all clips can be judged equally, and closeness to objects and collisions can be reviewed.

Example of an entry video:

This video was done in a 2min Private Tag Lobby. I used the first 30 seconds to warm up my tires and get into the starting zone.

I then go into some drifts, and stunt driving.

Then video ends with me working toward the stopping zone and coming to a complete stop. This is an example of what an entry video should look like.

-Judging-

Judging the event will be everyone! That’s right, everyone who cares to review the videos can rate each participant on a 1-100 scale. Judging will happen on the Pendulum Tuning forums at http://www.pendulumtuning.freeforums.org There will be a deadline for turning in your clip of your run, and there will be a judging deadline. You don’t have to compete to judge, and you don’t have to judge to compete.

Competition Prizes!

Note: You complete this competition in a private lobby on your own time. There is no date/time for everyone to gather so everyone, no matter what time zone, or what life schedule, can enter into the competition. Beetfarmer89 will host practice lobbies on #DriftMondays with anyone interested on both games. Entries can be added, removed or replaced, up until the closing date of the competition. A Gymkhana event photo session off all entries will be arranged. If you cannot make the time slot it is ok, the photo session is purely optional.
