Proximity Radar HUD [FM]

It’s my most needed feature, since I drive in cockpit view.

I agree to incorporate a proximity radar

I agree to incorporate a proximity radar

Maybe already told, but there is a easy FIX without COPYING from other games. And the Funny thing is that they say; they are REAL simulators and they have RADARS and Weather stations, this doesn’t sound realistic to me.
2 suggestions I have:
1(REALISTIC) A common sense used also in Euro TruckSimulator, to have rear view mirrors on the buttom angles of the screen, one showing 45° of the back right and the other side, 45° of the Back left and a middle one showing behind.
2(Unrealisti) The proximity arrow that we already have, Incorporate distance(Meters/Feet) in them and once the bumper is over the line of our rear bumber, the prox arrows become RED. This will tell us that if we move there will be a collision .

I hope the arrows get updated because you’re still guessing. A quick simple fix would be if the arrows turned red to indicate that there is a car along side you to prevent you from turning into it would be a massive improvement.

It’s not very good, it has to be like the ACC one that looks more right where the car is.

Whatever arrows or radar they must be TURNED ON BY DEFAULT in the game. Now proximity arrows are off, so many players doesn’t know it exists, the same way many go to the race with full tanks of petrol.
Sudden change of direction when I was overtaking others simply causes too many unnecesarry collisions and penalties.

Forza Motorsport Multiplayer feels like reckless pushing. In most cases the cause seems to be a lack of overview of one’s surroundings.

Sulution:
There is a Sulution seen in other Games like ACC and GT7. The Radar

This schould implimented as soon as possible to get clean Race in Multiplayer.
This Radar musst be activatet per default for every Player in the Multiplayer.

Radar

PS: The arrows that are currently in the game are not a solution, so you cannot estimate collisions

You claim that such a solution would be unrealistic, however similar systems have been used in REAL race cars for over a decade now:
https://www.prattmiller.com/about/news/corvette-racings-secret-weapon-is-the-pratt-miller-radar-camera/

If it gives people better situational awareness and allows for cleaner racing, I’m all for it.

Not having any kind of situational awareness in multiplier makes me want to put the game down at times. I don’t even have a mirror is most cars with the FOV in driver view.

A radar or at least a spotter is a must. The arrows just don’t work if your not using an exterior camera view.

Unrealistic ,but it was a suggestion to implement on what we already have.
Also Now if you use your brain 1 second, you can already work with what you have.
If you have a arrow pointing behind you and the board showing the gap(Top left of the screen) is less than 0.2seconds, it means that you are bumper to bumper, if you go agains the arrow you will have contact.
People can already o this, but becomes difficult with more cars

Sure, you can guesstimate approximately where the other car is by doing that, but you’re looking in two different places while presumably also concentrating on trying to navigate your way through traffic. And it’s still not as precise as the information you could get simply by looking in one place at a radar screen.

Could also implemet a radar system but allow users to move it to their desired location, some may want it in the middle of the screen, some maybe towards the side in the corner.

I find a radar a necessity (for myself), as opposed to the arrows, I’ve had many instances where I don’t have full knowledge of where my opponents are when beside me during turns, making me give up too much space, and hence, losing speed (and position), or not being able to adjust my line when they turn into me. The arrows are fine for the majority of the target audience this game was intented for, which is gamepad and 3rd person, but as a 1st person racer, it needs improving or option to use a radar.

Yeah they definitely need a better system than these arrows, especially if you drive in cockpit view. If you had a triple screen setup, it might not be a big deal… Then again, if i had a triple screen setup i wouldn’t be playing Forza, because the state of this game does not match that kind of investment, in the hobby.

Even with Triple screen it’s hard to drive without radar, spotter and virtual mirror from cockpit view.

The lack of useable mirrors in car is baffling. In some views they are cut off, some totally missing. I want the option of a pop out rear view mirror like the bonnet cam has and wing mirrors. Feel totally blind in car.

The default brown proximity arrows are next to useless. Loads of good ideas and references in the posts above.

I can only imagine that a lot of play testing was either done with very careful drivers or using external views. External views (which I hate driving from) are the only ways to get a sense of where the other cars are (well, until the AI drives into you).

This is the most badly needed feature for this. There cannot be any serious clean racing if we can’t tell cars are next to us or beside us without radar.

This needs to be a top priority otherwise the online races will be a clownfest of bumper cars, and the gap to legitimate online racers like gt7 will never be closed

Agree 110% we need a radar in this game. Especially for the in cockpit view drivers.

Arrows doesn’t work anyway, i m playing PC but most of the time I get close to somebody, the arrow won’t disappear, i oftenly end my race with 3/4 arrows around my car with nobody.
Does this game have ANYTHING functional right now ?

Radar and other features could be implemented as an MFD-style bit of HUD, similar to what we see in Gran Turismo 7. Stuff like a weather radar could also be part of that sort of system, which would be useful for longer races, but admittedly less useful in current career events since there are no Endurance style events or career race length options.
